The football at 1990 was abysmal. Had England not so romantically scraped all the way to the semi-finals and penalties, it would have been seen as an utter abomination of a World Cup.

Can I get a shout out for Qatar 2022, 8 years in advance.

We learned that Brazil are tough and cynical.  Forget samba football.

No doubt for me that South Africa was by far the worse. Those fkin vuvuzela thingy's. Give third world countries tournaments and you get what you deserve. Qatar, if it happens, might be even worse.

1990 was awful imo.

Too many sides fearful of losing.

Ireland got to the q-finals without winning a game scoring only 2 goals.

W.Germany would have won in 1966 but for an error by the officials.

2002. Mainly because of the officiating but also because it started the Irish Civil War.

France won fair and square ... nothing fixed about it.

I believe that 1990 is widely regarded as comfortably the worst WC in history by all those outside England & Ireland
