I placed £5 on Muller to win the Golden Boot at 8.6.. it appears that the bet has been settled and yet I've only profited £5.75? How has this happened? An error on Betfair's part or have I missed something?

well it was a dead heat..

Golden Boot decided by Assists

Betfair market is 'Top Goalscorer' decided by Goals only, so 4 tied.
Report Sharak July 11, 2010 10:39 PM BST
Did Muller not win it as he had most assists? I don't understand how my £40 return has gone down to a fiver in a four-way tie (on goals scored, that is)
Report HARRY22 July 11, 2010 10:41 PM BST
ffs muller wasnt top scorer...4 way tie..how much did you expect?
Report Sharak July 11, 2010 10:42 PM BST
Does it not make sense that in a four-way tie on a £40 return, I'd get a tenner? Or is it worked out a different way?
Report tobermory July 11, 2010 10:42 PM BST
You did not bet on Golden Boot
Report the hairy hotdog July 11, 2010 10:42 PM BST
Betfair market is not Golden boot market, its top goalscorer market.

Therefore more than one winner therefore dead heat rules apply.
Report HARRY22 July 11, 2010 10:42 PM BST
8.6  split it four ways no?
Report Far From Trouble July 11, 2010 10:43 PM BST
you had £1.25 at 8.6, as the other £3.75 was a loser

minus commission
Report Sharak July 11, 2010 10:45 PM BST
Ah thanks FFT, that makes sense. I made some profit, at least.
Report Jonny Sac July 11, 2010 10:45 PM BST
Did you really think you were the only 1 to notice it would go to assists and Muller had the most.  It is top gs adn not golden boot and this is why forlan /muller were same price 8.6
Report elise July 11, 2010 10:45 PM BST
it's a quarter the stake, not quarter the odds or quarter the profit, as fft says it's 1.25 at 8.6
Report haveibeendone July 12, 2010 12:05 AM BST
still cant work out if this is right, backed muller at half-time to be  top scorer for £50 at 6.6,it returned £32.50 profit. surely even split 4ways it should pay more?still a wins a win!
Report Shrewd_dude July 12, 2010 12:09 AM BST
No 32.50 is correct. £12.50 at 6.6 = £82.50
Report elise July 12, 2010 12:10 AM BST
1/4 your stake = £12.50
12.50 x 5.6 = £70 + stake returned £12.50 = £82.50

original stake £50, returns £82.50, hence £32.50 profit

Confused for same reason but different outcome.

I backed Mueller £2 at 20.0 and received £8 of which £6 was profit. given informative previous posts no explanation fits what happened with my wager.
Report Baggers July 12, 2010 12:57 AM BST
Skeletor

Your bet returned £10 ( 0.50 @ 20 ) but £2 was returned to your balance so you have won £8 (less commission)
