You can still have a tournament ball, just brand the existing one differently - the tango football from Argentina 78 is still iconic even now...

I'm sure that's right. I am also sure if they'd played with the sort of ball that has been used for the last 4 years the world cup would have been better.

Agreed cot. Even if the ball problems are bolix all the conjecture and moaning has been a pain in the arris.

imagine at the start of wimbledon they decided to use a new weight and type of ball or at the crucible they decided to bring out a different snooker ball just before the tournaments started .
what fifa have done is beyond belief and shows them up for the amateurs that they are. |

they do it every four years and every four years they offer the teams competing a chance to use the ball in their domestic leagues.. some did and some didnt or cant depending on the contracts with the ball manufacturers...
id like to see some anti jabulani comments from adidas wearing players.. there prob was some but i bet most were from nike sponsored teams and players :) |

using the ball in your own country would not have done any good unless you could replicate the condition in s.a. altitude etc.

Its an absolute disgrace ...It will be nothing more than a museum piece when this show is over ....they ought to have someones nads out over this

Not the only side, but I really think we'd have seen a far better England result if this WC had been played in Europe with a regularly used ball.

I agree. Two sides who can't play football got to the final, while world class teams were eliminated. Disgrace.

Ball spoilt the whole party. Shots flying miles over ... barely a handful of brilliant crosses...almost all long raking passes drifted into touch...or bounced too high...even simple balls sliding in the wide men,and the ball seemed to gather pace and run out.
Not a memorable tournament..in fact if truth be told...very poor. |
