Klose and Sneijder are roughly the same price to score in their respective semi final matches. Given that they are both currently on 4 goals for the competition and both are regarded as equally likely to score in their next match, it seems pretty illogical that Klose is less than half the price of Sneijder for the top goalscorer market.

Can anyone explain the discrepancy?

Klose is an out & out goalscorer, going for the record, scores for fun.
Sneijder takes set pieces & has a pop now & again from outside the box.
Regards.

Snjeider much more likely to be playing 2 more games though.

I agree. Ridiculous price difference.

Thanks LeChampagne, yes I accept that. The point I was making is that the markets make both players similarly likely to score in their semi-finals.(3.2 Klose, 3.35 Sneijder). Therefore, if these prices are correct, then one would have expected the prices in the top goalscorer market to be similar.

Presumably it's the prices to score in their next matches which is out then.

Both are likely to play two more games, whatever the results.

I suppose it depends on how strong a team the third place play off teams put out.

They may well give 'run outs' to squad players.

So Klose may not play?

Klose is 1 goal away from becoming the joint highest scorer in world cup history.

He would play in the 3rd place play off, as would anyone chasing the golden boot.

He has the extra incentive to set a new record

Fair comment

As regards the golden boot it could be a blessing to lose the game tomorrow night though.

The 3rd place play off wont be that important for the team but either Villa or Klose will be on a mission for the top goal scorer.

Whereas the final could be a very tight game with few opportunities to score

I am cheeeering the bejesus out of Klosse

Had a 2 free £100 bets in Labdrokes and have £100 Klosse @ 33/1 as well as £40 @ 50/1 and have £100 on the Krauts at 14/1 wif them also on afreebie from thier cards.

I'm on the top contenders but Uruguay's SUAREZ worth covering at 140's currently as a good price with 4 goals so far, and he would be back for play-off or final.

Suarez has 3 goals...

LOL @Klose's price!

Two of his challengers have scored tonight and he is now one goal behind Sneijder and yet his oprice is still unchanged and is shorter than Sneijder.

Crazy price for Klose imho.
Report Bobsyboy July 6, 2010 9:37 PM BST
err, Klose has an extra game to play in yet!!!
Report J0KER July 6, 2010 9:38 PM BST
50/1 & 33/1 klosse is ok though [;)]
