Funny hearing doom-monger pundits saying England blew their one great chance at this WC cos it was played in winter. Correct me if I'm wrong but last time I looked on the map Brazil is also in the southern hemisphere, so talk of searing heat in 2014 is way off the mark as it'll also be winter in Rio.

I hope I'm wrong, but at this moment in time I can't see England winning the World Cup in my lifetime. Let alone winning it in the back yard of the most illustrous team in the history of world football.
Hoping Brazil and Argentina are chalked up at reasonable prices due to their quarter final exits. I can't see a European team winning it in South America. But it's 4 years away, a lot can happen I suppose. |

Yes you are right Johnny but the Average min/max temp for Rio in June is 18/24C and for comparison Joburg 4/17. So its hardly unplayably hot but certainly a lot warmer on average than the current conditions.
