Not because of financial back or lay-motives, but just because you would like this country to win it.

The one with the biggest green next to their name will always make me want them to win (unless it's England, the only time I'd support one I have red Laugh)

If I'm level green, I'm not sure I give a feck!

van bommel... the secret power behind NL, the work that guy does and the way he influences the ref, amazing :D
he has that typical 70/80's german mentality (and face) any team with van bommel is a winning team.

I would like Germany to win.Of the 4 teams remaining,I feel that they are the only remaining side which plays within the spirit of the game.
The other 3 sides have at one time or other during the competition, resorted to diving, play acting, waving imaginary cards, surrounding the ref arguing over decisions, time wasting and general poor sportsmanship.
I find the Spanish particularly loathsome.Pique arguing over the blatant penalty,Puyol constantly trying to pressurise the ref to issue yellow and red cards etc.A notable exception is Iniesta who as well as being a fantastic player, simply gets up when fouled and plays on .
Whilst I accept the Germans are not without certain faults,I find their style of football exciting to watch,I love the team ethic which is so prevailant, and when leading a game, they have tried to score more rather than defending and timewasting.
Throw in the fact that they love a wind-up at press conferences rather than the traditional "they are a strong opponent who we respect............blah blah blah",plus the fantastic pictures of Ballack on the touchlines trying to look genuinely happy, for me its certainly Deutchland Uber Alles (or whatever the correct saying is)

Sun Lounge Hoggers 14/1

Clog Wearers 14/1

Holland win me more but also have Klosse at 50/1 and 33/1 golden boooot so more possibilities wiff the Bosch so guess I want them...

Great position to be in as only other outright bet was Argies 6.2 & 6.8

If Germany win it they will do it the hard way and deserve it.

I like they way they play. They are  underated , unknowns on the up with momentum.

My special stats tell me they are the ones to look for.

So I think they could win.

Uraguay would be a nice change but you can't say they have had to battle hard if they do like the dutch who have easier runs. I think, Forgetting it is Germany who have won before, it would be good for football if they did win the way they play. It is not my best result either

Germany.  I backed them every month since February when I had a few Euro.  I've greened out but would still like to see the team that played attacking football win.

If not the Netherlands.  Spain are boring and over-hyped, Uruguay cheated (understandably imo).

Germany - we can learn a lot from the way they run the game over there - don't rip fans off, you can drink beer watching the match, still some terracing, cheaper tickets ..... not bad I'd say so good luck to em !

Laugh

Would be perfectly apt for this WC, where they make the rules up as they go along (which bare no resemblance to the actual rules, lol)

Germany. But anyone but Spain really. I hate watching them - tap, tap, tap, tap, tap

@birdy, you can do that in every country... besides england

I would love to see Uruguay win. They have been unfairly painted as everyone's villain team in this WC because they knocked out Africa's last remaining side, when the gushing, over-sentimental support of Ghana was way over the top, along with the vilification of Suarez ever since.
Uruguay's progress has been one of the stories of the tournament. BBC/ITV prefer to ignore the intricacies of a WC but the 2 holding, central midfielders for Uruguay - Diego Perez and Egidio Arevalo have been absolutely outstanding. They are a proper team, no egos, fear no one, have a superb back line, including those who have had to come in due to injuries to Lugano and Godin. I'm with Toon Toon and would like to see Suarez score a hat-trick in the final.

URUGUAY  why? because i got 16/1 on Uruguay at hills today there as good a bet as any.

Financially I need Spain to win it, but my heart says Germany deserve it.

They've played the best football by a country mile. Spain & Holland have been particularly dull, so Uruguay are my 2nd choice...
Report loserschaselosers July 6, 2010 11:02 PM BST
Holland. Surely no question. This is no where near the best Dutch  team of all time,  and they have ridden their luck in this tournament, but over the last 4 decades Holland have given football lovers more joy than any other team bar Brazil. If they do win the final in 90 minutes, they will have won every qualifying game and every tournament game. And you can't argue with that.
Report shadesof62 July 7, 2010 2:48 AM BST
Never thought I would say it but Germany, they have played good football in the right spirit, they are young, they represent the modern Germany, they are nurtured in the German Leagues who re-invest loads of money in youth developement.

Can't stand this Dutch team, Robben is a wincing cry baby, Van Bommel a thug, and generally speaking they play uninspiring football.

Do like the Spanish game, but like others feel they try to manipulate the ref too much.

holland who i have always had a soft spot for.. possibly my 'second' international team.
Report Joel July 7, 2010 6:13 AM BST
To be honest before the tournament started I felt that whichever team beat Australia would win. And Germany is the only team that has beaten them so I would like them to win to prove my thoughts correct. And also because I have backed them.
