Glad someone started a thread, saved me the bother.I promised myself not to get uptight ,but after 20 mins the mute went on.
ITV ,you should be ashamed of yourselves using such a poor presenter. His voice is monotonous enough without the garbage he spouts.Ball comes straight at the Ghana goalie who tips it over the crossbar and Beglin calls it an absolutely amazing save! Tyldesley is equally bad, even sounds like Pearce and Motson, endless stream of useless stats.
Don't tell me there is not better around.
Look at some of the great commentators we have in racing,Hoiles,Holt,Hunt etc.
They all seem to forget we are watching too. When replays are shown they comment on those too,are they not watching the match ,or just watching from a screen the same as us.
   Rant over,I feel better now.

Tyldesley says I've seen those given,Beglin responds  with yes I've seen those given. What is it all about.Ruining the match,MUTE BACK ON.

Get feedback when I do that.Got large wall speakers for the radio and it messes up the tv when on at the same tip. However you are dead right.
Beglin gets more and more boring as the game progresses. To repeat myself
THE SIDEKICK(BEGLIN,in this case) SERVES NO PURPOSE EXCEPT TO RUIN THE MATCH FOR VIEWERS.

4 1/2 mins to play and Beglin says "A GOAL FOR EITHER SIDE WILL BE HUGE"

Did you know that? I bet you didn't.

Meanwhile 1 min to go and Tyldesley says "Pretty good time to score a goal"
Bet you didn't know that either!

Le Saux is the best 'new' pundit by a mile, can't believe he wasn't taken to South Africa

Beglin begins sentences with 'look' or 'listen' which, in my opinion, qualifies him for shooting in the face

Steve Wilson on BBc tonight, best of the bunch.Doesn't say too much, lets the game flow.
Should be used more often.Unfortunately he has to contend with M Lawrenson.

IMO there are a lot worse co commentators out there eg Mark Bright, Chris Coleman, Lawrenson, McCarthy

What annoys me most about Beglin is that he thinks the whole things a laugh. He laughs every time he speaks as if he's been schooled by Tommo. Mind you he's probably laughing at the idiots who employed him.

I would much prefer Andy Townsend.

Surprised Clare Balding isn't there though. She does everything else.

Detest beglin , commentating on the pure obvious when you would have to be totally fecking blind not to see what he spouts in the first place in the replay.

but he thinks he's good ffs.

Agree with the poster who suggested Le Saux, he was a brilliant co-commentator, very knowledgeable and easy to listen to unlike most ex-footballers.
Lets hope he rejoins the Beeb

This may suprise people but Iactually thinkDavid Pleast is the best.

Hes is the only one who EVER says something in anticipation of it happening, usually something tactcal.

He spots things goingon in the matchthat i havent realises ie 'the right-back is leaving too much of a gap when making his runs and isnt being covered', or something like that.

He DOESNT say things like 'ooh the big lad up front would hurt if he landed on you'

However my mates know if there is one thing that will gt me riled whentalking about football, it is the complete and utter pr1ck that is Peter Drury. Infact I'm getting angry thinking about him so I'll stop writing.

Can't believe some tubes on here think Beglin is rubbish, just goes to show you what little you must know.  Beglin is head and shoulders above every other pundit out there.
