England's Group C The Weakest

It was on a plate for us.  Easy group, Ghana in the last 16, Uraguay in the quarters.  Wouldnt meet a serious contender until the semis and then anything could happen.  What a waste!

Uruguay would have put that England outfit to the sword, if not Ghana.

Easily the worst group in the history of the world cup, with England hanging on for dear life against a corner flag for the 3 minutes in the last game to scrape through in second place from it.

Doesn't mean it was the weakest group, anything can happen in a knock out game.  You need to look at the wider picture. 

If the Premier League was a 5 game season almost anyone could win it.

Someone replied to me when I said it was a weak group.  He pointed out that on FIFA rankings there was a weaker group.  Now it looks like FIFA need to spend some time on their rankings.

You have to remember that rankings are based on historic results not on current form.

Really was a disgrace not to top that group.
