Going overboard ,because the linesman accepted that the Brazilian was just onside.Bigging him up as if the lino himself had scored.Total rubbish commentating.
As for Jim Beglin, interruption after interruption adding NOTHING WHATSOEVER of any importance. As stated many times we don't need a mikesmith and his sidekick spouting endless drivel, one on his own is more than  enough.
Rant over, the point being they ruin the atmosphere of the game.Clowns.Little is best!

They should be told once and for all that little is best. The best commentators are the ones that let the game flow and only say something when it is necessary. We don't need a never ending stream of statistics either, telling us what happened 100 years ago!!

spot on unbiased. Being arguing the same point for a long time. Modern commentary is killing the game as much as the negative tactics of modern coaches. Tydlesley should be hung from the neck until dead. All he does for 90mins is inundate us with his intimate knowledge of the game. He's like a kid showing off at school after mastering the Rubik's Cube. Any knowledgeable football fan just doesn't need to hear any of this. Really, both channels let down genuine football fans massively. I've even been left this WC thinking, 'Please bring back Barry Davies' purely because he appreciated 'less is more'.

Hover digit over button marked mute. Descend said digit with slight force to achieve desired result. Open a beer. Enjoy the game.

Martin Tyler is still pretty good.

Maybe they should get Richie Benaud to South Africa, he was/is the master of less is more.

For the BBC games on the red button you can choose the Radio 5 live commentary to go with the pictures instead. Did this for the England game v Germany and it was much better.

Alan Green may be disliked by many but he has strong views and doesn't mince his words. The tv commentators are all flowery trying to build up them team and justify any rubbish they produce for fear of offending the players. Green is just a fan and tells it like it is, often criticising the players and calling their token efforts appalling.

correct Roger - was recommended this option earlier in WC and have not looked back.
