Back Portugal for the WC. If Spain don't win, Portugal's price will plummet (assuming they don't beat Brazil). They would play Chile and then face the Dutch in the quarters before facing the winners of Uruguay's fairly easy quarter. It is a pretty good cover for your bet whichever way you look at it and is exceptional value anyway. There is only about a 50% chance that they meet Spain.

If Port finish 2nd to Brazil, I make it they play Winner H in 16, then winner of Paraguay/Japan, then one of Ger/Eng/Arg/Mex.
According to both World Soccer and R/Post pullout centre pages. Dont fancy Portugal but appreciate point you make re: price, cheers m8 |

I have Netherlands/Germany at 50/1 with PP. Imo the finalist will be from Netherlands & Brazil V Argentina & Germany & England.

I am on Argentina V Holland at 50's as my main bet, felt more confident with my back up Argentina V England punt.
The quarter finals are the big games for me. Considering Brazil V Holland as a long shot at around 50/1 |

If brazil win their group can they then only meet Arg in the final?

Managed partial trade out of Argies/Spain in running Friday night. After Spain won Group H the results have gone to plan since, with Argies, Brazil and Holland all winning last 16 ties. I have had a couple of small trades and book now stands at Argies/Brazil +208.91 Argies/Holland +162.74 Brazil/Spain +220.45 Holland/Spain +204.06 All other permutations -56.70 Argies/Spain settled any comments?? |

nice book squire but don't under-estimate Uruguay, especially if they have Godin back fit for s/f assuming they get past Ghana.

I dont underestimate anyone as this is the hardest game in the world. Worried about Germany but am reassuring myself that - after Spain hopefully beat Portugal - I will have two chances of beating them. A Spain win 2moro puts me in the ideal position. |

only 2 possible finals remain.
argentina v brazil or argentina v holland. and there are only 2 possible winners argentina or brazil this has been my prediction for the last 6 months and i have not seen anything to change my mind. |

/\ Spain are a very very good side. They could well beat Argentina. Holland look a very ordinary side and I would be very surprised if they beat Brazil.

I worry about Germany having too much organisation/tactical nous for Argies, but then recall how England had them on rack for 10-15 mins, and Ghana created chances against them. The Argies will surely pose serious ?s for that German back 4 with Tevez and Messi buzzin about.
In event of Argies falling to Germany, I have not a bad plan B in Spain ![]() IMO the Holl/Braz winner will have too much for either Uruguay or Ghana. Holland will welcome the space they will get v Braz as all 4 opponents thus far (with poss exception of Cameroon) have dug in against them and a Brazil win is IMO not a foregone conclusion. |

Regarding Holland v Brazil, I've bet on the draw and then hedging at some stage in the second half, it's gonna be a long game, they won't break down this dutch defense and they can keep the ball.
But then with Brazil it only takes 4 minutes of dominance to come up with two goals, probably in the second half when legs get tired. |
