tbh beeb, i think the majority of the football world thought this was a politically incorrect decision to hold the world cup in south africa...
i can appreciate fifa wanting the tournament to be staged around the globe...but surely, if they wanted it staged in africa, then surely it should have been staged in egypt, or either tunisia or morocco...even nigeria at a push...
i think attendances would have been higher had the tournament been staged in one of the north african countries...
thats only my opinion of course...
wot do others think ????

its the world cup for the world game. we should have the world cup staged in a country for corporate, salaried English people to watch as well, where people stay quiet, or sing daft songs. but only once every 60 years thank god.
attendances are very good.what other world cups have people watched?its the world cup for the world game. we should have the world cup staged in a country for corporate, salaried English people to watch as well, where people stay quiet, or sing daft
Several issues here.1 We all have rose tinted glasses on and remember previous world cups as being much better when in reality even the World cups that live long in the memory had disappointing group games. 2 We're all judging it when barely 10% of the competition has passed. 3 It's massively over-hyped to the extent that if Abbey Clancey was butt naked on Kelly Brook's shoulders heading the winning goal for England in the Final people would still find room to complain. It can never live up to the billing.
