yet they were a very good team last night, their soccer excellent, technically far superior to all english players , difference imo is that we play the so called vastly overated superstars instead of bbuilding a team. and to rooney, lampard , gerard etc please dont consider moving to the primera etc cos you really will be found out

England far superior.  Would beat this German side no prob.

agreed.
Report sickoflayinwinners June 14, 2010 8:59 AM BST
the germans were undoubtedly impressive buti dont think we should go overboard as they beat a poor aussie team who were down to ten men for the3rd and 4th goals.although the germans had the game in the bag before the sending off it defo made it simple for them to go cutting thru at will  from that rtime on.having said all the above id prefer england to avoid them in the lasty 16

Any German keeper or Green.....?????
Any German centre half or Carragher..?????

Wake up OP

The OP is probably right

The same players are there, who failed again and again throughout the 2000s.

They are untouchable

Young talent and form count for very little

Australia was no real test. Australia is a mixture of players who play in the 2nd league of best football nations (on average). The problem is that Germany has not beat any quality football nation in the recent years (since WC 2006). In Euro final against Spain they no chance and i do not see why this should have changed. Remember: Klose is only a bench warmer in Munich (Striker no 3.5, Gomez no 6). And you have me to convince that international 3th or 4th quality players can strike against really top nation.

England may have better individual players like Rooney but their poor goalkeeping can kill them everytime.
Report CLYDEBANK29 June 14, 2010 10:04 AM BST
No one is saying Klose or Gomez would get in England's team.  They wouldnt and England won comfortably in Germany 18 months ago, but Germany beat England in the final of the U21 Euro 2009 4-0 and have an emerging squad of young players that is arguably the best group of young players in Europe.  Ozil is going to be a great player, I'd have thought that was obvious.
Report SatelliteFlight June 14, 2010 10:07 AM BST
thats so true, the German players are all able to pass the ball and would not fit in with Englands HOOF policy up to Heskey Plain
Report elisjohn June 14, 2010 10:08 AM BST
thats my point, man for man if i was england manager, i would have 7/8 germans in my team , but with this england manager  ,.would probabl not have one.poppydog understood what i mean, in fact its a wonder that beckham not mentioned to start next gameGrin
Report Goretski June 14, 2010 10:10 AM BST
imo opinion the original post should have read something along the lines of how many english players would get in the german starting 11!!! Confused

That German goalie who killed himself would have done a better job than Green. I'm pretty sure if the ball hit the hand of a corpse that was just propped up in the goal mouth, it wouldn't have pushed the ball back into the net...

Germany would play not to lose the game against England, because they will score 4 or 5 and we won't

If this is a poor German side then a good German side must be fairly useful.

That host on the morrow lay withered and strown.
