Went down to korals today to enquire about a price
for brazil to win world cup and david villa top goalscorer.
the counterhand gave me 7s and 9/2 like a normal double.
works out at over 40s. the counterhand told me she could do this cos villa dont play for brazil. is this right?

Yes - not a related contingency so OK - in actual fact it suits them this way.

Why wouldnt you get paid? Of course it isnt related.
The whole point about related contingency is that with a multiple bet, if one leg coming in (ie Rooney top scoring) makes the other leg (ie England win the World Cup) more likely, they are related.

If you found a piece of burnt newspaper from the future, and you could just see a headline saying "Rooney wins Golden Boot" you would think there was a good chance England had gone a long way in the tournament. They certainly wouldnt be a 8/1 shot. The two events are related.

Obviously there is no relation between Brazil winning the World Cup and David Villa of Spain finishing top scorer. If anything, you would say that if Brazil win the world cup it makes the chances of Villa being top scorer imperceptibly bigger (ie we know that one of the four teams who play 7 matches is not Spain).

Anyway - it's no related contingency, end of.
