People will refuse to accept that 4-0 result until they see a good performance against Serbia.  I expect Serbia to get rough against Germany because they won't be able to compete with football.

Why were Serbia tipped for this tournament after a poor qualification (one point from France) and a shocker in WC 2006 (3 losses GF2, GA10, two red cards).

Italy might play ok at 18s.  Historically a good competitor.

One of the big differences between the Germans and the other 15 teams we've seen so far is their ability to cope with the football. Long passes and crosses were not overhit tonight.

Interestingly the Bundesliga used the Jabulani during the season just ended from about December onwards (from what I can find on Internet although I am open to correction here)

How long will it take for the other top sides to get to grips with it to the same extent.

The 3 group games should be enough time IMO.

I wouldn't have thought Serbia's qualification was poor either. Although the group was one of the weaker ones, they only lost 2 games, one of which (away to Lithuania) was after qualification was assured. They possibly got lucky that France started so badly though, losing 3-1 away to Austria and then drawing away to Romania in the 3rd match.

Germany at 15/1 is insane. Punters tend to ignore the World cup is a 7 games tournament where factors such as mental strengh, determination and experience as a football nation is almost as important as the quality of the squad.

If the best team always won the world cup Spain should be now 13/10 and Italy would have never won an International Tourney.

Last world cup in Germany they were priced 10/1 at some point as the usual mugs thought they were not good enough or didn't trust Klismann as a manager. They advanced to semifinals and those who spotted the massive value could lay off for a nice profit.

I'm not saying Germany will neccesary win this time but they will progress to the final stages AS THEY ALWAYS DO making the current price a joke.

point being brazil spain and holland havent played yet and argentina have won their game. england are nobodys real idea of the winner surely and every game is on the day no matter how well teams play in their previous games
