I reckon Blokhin had retired by 1986, although I'm not 100% sure - wasn't he European footballer of the year in about 1975?

Dunno if Gunther Netzer played in the 1970 World Cup, but he didn't play through injury in 1974, and he was a fantastic player.

Supersavo, Gordon Cowans might have played in the 1994 World Cup, except he played in the qualifiers and was so shyte we didn't even get there.
