.....I am running a World Cup 2010 Prediction Competition and it'd be great to have as many of you know-it-alls playing as possible [;)] .
It's not a one-sheet of A4 effort though, and you'll have to be a top tipster to win, so why not make the tournament more enjoyable by having a crack at answering the fifty questions which include predicting the eventual winners, top scorer, group winners, number of efforts Emile Heskey gets on target, the colour of Gary Lineker's shirt, the number of goals, own goals, headed goals, red cards etc etc.
I'm only trying to generate interest on this and one other website (plus locally, where all the entries came from last time) as I'm not really looking to get thousands upon thousands of entries as I have to freaking work as well as mark them all. The 2006 version was a last-minute effort and still got around 130 entrants so I'm looking to get more than that.
One important thing - this is not a profit-making game. Ten per cent of the entry fees is going towards the cost of a specialist wheelchair/bike to enable a local (to me) young man to enjoy trips out with his family. The rest - minus printing costs - is returned as cash prizes. From memory, the winner in 2006 got around £250 with prizes for 2nd, 3rd and a lucky dip winner too. The more entrants, the more prizes and the greater their value. Simples.
I'll also post this on the Football forum and will bump both threads from time to time to hopefully generate some interest from my fellow Betfairites.
