england will reach the semi final , prob lose to brazil if they get through

and would be backed by me to beat holland (i think thats the draw) to reach the final.

will win the first two group games to go through and then rest players as would be the italian way.

dont worry about qualifyi8ng capello will have it all sorted out

stupid comment

one good reason why england wont score 3 in a game?

go back under fabio and in competitive games have a look how many times england have scored 2 or more in a game.. and against who
Report morrissey May 4, 2010 3:12 AM BST
udner capello england have scored 34 goals in competitive fixtures and let in 6

average of 3.4 per game

in games against croatia you can find out how many we scored and scored 3 or more ni almost every other match.. away at germany and holland we scored 2 in either game, none against spain admittedly beat the us easily 2-0 and lost 1-0 to brazil and france in meaningless friendlies..

and i dont think for one minute capello has had a consistant selection injuries and suspensions etc...

yet he manages to get the job done always seem to score regardless of who plays..

do ppl say things on here without thinking at all

some do,some don't but I feel as though I should defend my point of view.

My conclusion that England will do well to score 3 in the group game, which the original poster predicted, is based on the fact that in the last 18 games when England have played in the group phase of the world cup they have only scored 3 goals in 2 games,France in 82'(when France were no good) & Poland in 86'(they had to score 3 to qualify).None in the last 12,Even though in that time they have played the might of Trinidad,Tunisia,Egypt and previously Morocco & Kuwait.

In the last 5 World cups England have been in the group which the least amount of goals were scored, just a coincidense? maybe,or something in their makeup?but you could get 7/1 on it happening again in the last World cup which indicates what the expectation was then.

England had a great start with Sven, remember Germany,he averaged 3 going into his first World cup, still didnt score 3 in the group games though and even your optimistic outlook has England scoring 3 goals in only one game out of six.

With England its a matter of a new false dawn and we've heard it all before many times.Your first 2 posts made a fair point and you can put your money where your mouth is but your last one makes you look like the usual England mug punter imo.

Happy punting and good luck.

when it comes to tournament play i dont really tend to look back to prev ones for any country. you can look at the national mentality when it comes to certain countries.. but nothing else.. most squads are rarely the same as 4 years prev.

i dont think brazil or spain are unbeatBLE by any standards. spain should eb favs for me based on recent competitive form and brazil second.. england are rightly third with a good manager and a strong but not overly inspiring squad. maybe having a more team orientated midfield and second striker will actually help england this time. no stars, just honest players who wont lie if injured and will try every minute.. id like to see gerrard booted out, i couldnt care less what any liverpool fans say, he has been rubbish in geenral play for 3 years and hasnt been good enough for england for longer. wouldnt be playing if it was another country.

anyway good luck and the only bet i have had up to yet is rooney to top score at 15 :)

not far off ascii.

As for you morrissey,we had a couple of exchanges about Englands chances.
I hope you now have the decency to admit that the comments you were coming out with(again and again)were just deluded drivel....but i doubt it.Laugh

Very impressive haslam you're the type of punter who will actually win money instead of going with the crowd , keep up the good work
