put your money where your mouth is for these good things , put up what you 6.0 if your so confident and i ll have what you like..........bored of jokers coming out with so b******, spain are a great team to say they have no chance is pretty stupid.

in over 80 years of world cup football no european team has ever

won the trophy outside its own continent and a lot better teams

than this current spain team have tried .

for example the great german team with beckenbauer and muller etc.

the great england team with charlton moore etc.

the great dutch team with cruyff and neeskens etc.

so to sum up spain have no chance imo.

It is in Africa ffs , so what relevance do tournaments in Mexico and Chile decades ago have?
Report the lay preacher March 8, 2010 8:03 AM GMT
when i last checked south africa was outside europe.

This current spain team would hammer all the teams you mentioned above. The Spain team of 2010 would beat the England team of 66 by about 12 goals.
Report the lay preacher March 8, 2010 9:03 AM GMT
i think it would be close but mind you the english team would be in their 70s now.
Report Graeme83 March 8, 2010 9:14 AM GMT
That gag is older than you and Jack Charlton put together. If you think England 66 are better than Spain 2010, you need special help. That Spain team is oozing with class from top to bottom.

Anyone watched the USA - Spain match in the Confederation Cup last year?

Seriously Spain have their weakness and are not unbeatable. The problem is whether they will face that bogey team en route to the final. I think USA, England and possibly some rogued South American teams have the ability to upset them.
Report supersavo March 18, 2010 10:34 AM GMT
must be good if they can afford to leave Messi out !

back to school d1ckhead. the great dutch team including cruyff never played in a WC outside Europe.

Cruyff wasn't in Argentina in '78. his missus wouldn't let him go after he was sh4ggin in Germany in '74.

that statistic actually is good, should have listened to it last world cup, about european teams winning in europe.

In the last world cup Spain were unbeaten for 25 games (not sure of this) when they met France in the round of 16. Spain scored first but lost 3-1.
They won the Euro 2008 final 1-0.
In the Confederations Cup in 2009 Spain were on a 35 game unbeaten run when they lost 2-0 to the USA. then they beat South Africa 3-2 a.e.t.

The past is not the future. A good qualification or a good FIFA ranking can't be taken onto the pitch.

Eighteen World Cups - one fourth place - that is Spain's record.

Spain win the world cup at a canter...only thing that stands in the way is diego maradonna and his tactical genius :^0 argies are doomed with him in charge...wtf were they thinking putting him in charge?
Report the lay preacher March 29, 2010 2:03 PM BST
they wanted a bigger price to win it .

without maradona they would be favs.
Report the lay preacher March 29, 2010 2:08 PM BST
the thing is i dont think you need to be a great manager to win the world cup . but you do need great players .

ramsay england .

beckenbauer w. germany

menotti argentina .

klinsman germany unlucky not to get to final .

and there are many others.

it seems the main thing you need is a big pablic profile.

argie layers beware.

almost fully agree lay preacher, the game is more tactical now, more than ever before. but i dont think having a great manager is essential to win a tournament, a league yes. messi is the jewel in the crown, and 'history' shows world cups are the stage that the best players shine on.

providing messi is fully fit for the start, i'd be amazed if the argies haven't steamed, and england drifted. just my opinion.

also be interesting if any good compilers could price the chances of ronney being injured going in and messi also. i'd say messi would be alot bigger in price to be crocked than our wayne.
