Looking for some inspiration...

I have got people that dont have much knowledge of football but are playing for the hell of it and people that follow footie religiously...

Thinking of a format that would be simple and keep people interested till the end...

Any ideas would be appreciated...

Thanks

Most REDS or Most Yellows or Most corners or Least Corners.

Highest scorers shirt number. Lowest............

Most goals conceded or most goals scored.

Just trying to think of things that last till the end.

Team who lets in the most goals - we had that in work once. New Zealand (nap).

In 98 I organised one which was a complete lottery (so appealed to those who didn't follow football as well).

Each team was given a number, plus a pool of strikers and attacking midfielders was created who each had a number too.

Everyone picked two numbers to allocate themselves a team, and four numbers to allocate themselves players.

Every goal scored by your teams or your players scored a point.

Quite well received as the lottery principle appealed to the (mainly) women who were clueless about football.

We had a good one where I work for the last World Cup.

4 pots of 8. We just did the pots as they were drawn in the real draw, go to FIFA website, the original pots still shown. 1st pot is all your top seeds and then so on.

Entrant picks 1 team from each pot. Think the odds of picking the same 4 teams is over 5,000-1.

10 points if their team wins, 5 for a draw and 0 for defeat. Then 1 extra point for each goal scored. England draw 2-2 with USA, both teams would get 7 points.

Set up a quick excel sheet with all the teams and hey presto. Better than just a sweep, as realistically only a handful of teams can win it.
