Agree that Netherlands are overpriced and should be about a 10/1 shot. Have a good draw imo and as long as Van Persie is fit are a team to be with. Spain are clearly the team to beat but netherlands the best value.

Italy were slightly shock winners in 2006 , they were shorter in the betting than Holland are now

van nistleroy looks like a genuine horse but i dont think he is that dark

they did not run out of steam; they did what most Dutch sides do at major tournaments, ie fall out with each other over something stupid and then stop playing as a team. van Persie and Sneijder had a disagreement over a free-kick (it wasn't van Persie's turn apparently) and then the problems the two had in training resurfaced and it all went to sh1t

Well I will back them based on their cycle:-

1998 - strong finish as fourth, although could possibly have done much more than Brazil in the fixed final

2002 - Teutonic van Gaal mucked it up.

2006 - Disappointing match-up against peak Portugal

2010 - Should be their turn. Lot's of quality attackers and easy group stage. Most impotrant of all RVP and Kuyt are not playing frequently for their clubs.

Great shame Robben is not Dutch. Just the sort of player that would fit into this team well.
