Likely to be even worse than usual if they are required this time IMO.

Defoe likely to be one of the 1st 3 picks and he seems to miss more than he scores for Spurs.

Wouldn't trust Lampard or Gerrard after 2006. Then what ? John Terry? , Heskey? :0

gerrard and lampard have decent records.

They do ,Lampard particulary , but in 2006 you could see they just couldn't handle taking one for England in a shootout.

Even walking from the centre circle they looked like they were heading for the gallows.

I used to worry a bit about stevie taking pens for us but he has improved massivly over the last few years at them.

Gareth Barry has to be ahead of Defoe for 1 though doesn't matter who takes them as at least 2 of them will bottle it in a shootout

'Even walking from the centre circle they looked like they were heading for the gallows'

That is the exact phrase I used in the immediate aftermath when contrasting it with Ronaldo who absolutely swaggered up to take his with the air of confidence coming from someone who just KNEW he was going to score.
Had previously thought of him as nothing more than a horrible, diving Manc tw@t but his attitude to that & the cheeky wink to accompany the**Rooney being sent off marked him out as being made of the winning stuff.

Owen Hargreaves is England's Best Penalty Taker, shame hes injured...

He put his away cool as in that Portugal Game in 2006...

Indeed Brunton, it's a shame.

True RM ,Ronaldo even kissed the ball before he put it down on the spot!
