France did very well in 2006 of course , but i read that after the poor start Zidane basically became player manager.

Awful in qualifying for Euro 2008 ( lost home + away to Scotland) , then once they got to it were arguably the worst team in the tournament, despite having one of the 3 or 4 strongest squads.

Very,Very lucky to have made the World Cup this time after 2 more years of rubbish.

Amazing he is still there.

He's a hopeless manager and the French public hate him, so as you say its amazing he's still in charge. On the plus side it dramatically reduces their chances

I'm pretty sure that I heard that he was given an ultimatum last time out - "Get to les semis or you're out of votre job, matey".

Domenech's management style has also raised eyebrows amongst players and fans. A keen amateur dramatist and astrologer, Domenech has admitted to distrusting Scorpios, such as Robert Pirès.

what a clown :0

I went out with a scorpio once and she weren;t too trustworthy :)

Seriously though, it is a mystery how he's still in the job with the players, fans, and media all hating him.
