Chile breezed through qualification scoring for fun and playing great football, whilst Argentina scraped through playing gash. Punters fall in love with the "big name" I geuss, anyway I'm taking full advantage

Not sure Chiles best is good enough to win world cup

Argentina been average for sometime but potential is there.

Chile will pass their group with flying colours regardless of draw, teams on fire. Im not saying they're going to win but think they will easily trade at sub 40's

Argentina is one of the greatest football nations ever to grace world football. They have produced Maradona, Messi, Batistuta, Di Stefano and they are always legends and one of the most fearsome squads, regardless of qualification matches. They have won the World Cup twice and that's why they are 13.5 when they've shown just average performances.

What's Chile's greatest World Cup achievement? A 1998 draw against Austria.

I think it will be hard for Chile to surpass the group stage of the WC, let alone win it. 80 fair price imo.

if chiles team in 98 with bam bam zamarano and salas at their peak couldnt win a world cup what chance have this mob got bielsa has shone in wc qualification before [i got suckered into backing his argie team to win it and they were rotten] but never in the wc itself 80s is fair enough

humberto suazo top goalscorer is 801/ - more likely to happen then chile winning outright imo and if Chile were to win the world cup then it would almost certainly meaning Suazo scoring for fun

So you actually go on what was happening decades ago Coke? :|

No, I'm not going with what was happening ages ago, I'm going with logic and sense, which dictates that there are 4 countries which can win any given World Cup, no matter of their qualification performance and these are Brazil, Germany, Italy and Argentina.

I believe that 13.5 is value for Argentina, whereas 70-80 for Chile is not.

Well your logic and sense is clearly based on whats happened in the past as you say ' any given World Cup'

This is not any given World Cup , it is the 2010 World Cup . So all 32 teams have a chance ,depending on how good they are now. You are just making a case based on whats happened in the past with different teams, but the Germany and Brazil teams seem inferior to the ones they have had in the past.

Argentina may not be a bad bet at 13.5 , but its debatable that they have a stronger squad than the last few WCs and they havent made it to the Semis since 1990 with those squads .

Well, when you're trying to predict a World Cup outcome you need empirical evidence and in all world cups you've seen these few teams dominating, last example was Italy who weren't even in the top-4 favourites, but they won the World Cup because they were Italy. What I'm trying to say is that these prices are actually fair prices, because with a football nation like Argentina or Brazil or Germany you can never write them off even when they're underperforming.

And of course it's not only history, Argentina is a far stronger team than Chile, it would be a joke comparing them, no matter what happened in South American qualification.

Argentinas best could go close to winning WC

Chiles couldnt imo

Hence ones 80/1 and other 13

Not saying argies wont turn up and again stink the place out like in qualifying but surely prices are based on potential

Chile WILL qualify for sure as long as they dont draw netherlands or portugal from pot 2. In that case its a toss up. Coke individual players dont make up a team, that argentinas biggest problem NOW, and plus most of the players you speak of are long gone...
