The stats are shocking: the number of South Africans who die each year has leapt from 300000 in 1997 to 756000 in 2008 and is already at 900000 for 2009.
The statistics further revealed that life expectancy has dropped from 63 years in 1990 to 47, and is now equal to the life expectancy in countries at war, such as Afghanistan. Former president Thabo Mbeki had some bizarre theories regarding HIV and AIDS and his policy was basically to ignore its existance. This obviously led to no chance in people's lifestyle choices or them taking precautions. |

This is all nonsense. For every 1 person who has Aids and knows it and reports it, they assume there are 10 who have it, know it, but dont report it. For each of them, they assume there are another 10 people who have it but dont know it. Before you know your projections start getting a bit ridiculous. I live in SA and somehow have never heard of anyone with Aids. Stats, stats and damn lies. According to some NGO's, the population of Botswana was supposed to be extinct 6yrs ago if some of the stats were to be be beleived.

I live in the UK and have not met anyone that has had swine flu. Is that a myth as well? |
