Delbosco falls on the penultimate jump in the ski cross with a medal in sight.
Osborne Paradis and Dixon their 2 main alpine skiing medal hopes crash out of both the downhill and the superG
Melissa Hollingsworth throws away silver in the final round of the skeleton
Their big bobsled hope crashes despite knowing the track better than anyone
Mike Robertson throws away an unassailble lead in the snowboard cross
Generally underperformed across the board

See my thread in north american.

Im convinced they are the biggest bunch of chokers in sport. Canada can keep their forests, their clean air, and their boring cardboard cutout culture. Give me America anyday. They are winners, the canucks are a nation of consistent chokers.

Your list doesnt do them justice.

I reckon Delbosco did well to get as close to a medal as he did given his past history

I'm trying to think of other athletes who completely blew it and all I can think of is Eve Longmuir for GB curling

Lindsey Jacobellis twice (2006 and 2010).

Delbosco holds dual Canadian-USA nationality.

Wow these threads can sometimes be started a little early hey. 14 golds twice as many as the last 2 games. Topped the table, WD Canada.

The last winter games did not have as many events.
Report scoobeck February 28, 2010 10:09 PM GMT
Thats correct 86 Golds handed out this year compared to 84 in 2006.

Big Deal.

You'd think a guy would put an ounce of effort in before he made a complete idiot of himself.

Looks good on you Threep.

Pre tournament I had them 13 Golds 10 Silver and 10 Bronze which is 33 medals and they got 26. (no other nation was so far off my pre tourney prediction) At the 2009 World Championships for each equivalent event they managed 29 medals without home field advantage so in a way they did underperform. I backed them for most medals, most golds and for every bobsleigh and skeleton event. I also backed Groves and all 3 home skiers in the mens downhill, so I was getting totally p1ssed off with them. Well done for coming back and winning 14 golds

Virtue and Moir were perfection in the ice dancing. Canada's performances seemed to turn after their win.

certainly didnt bottle it when they let William Shatner take part in the closing ceremony...anything could have happened there!

Biggest bottler of the games is surely the Dutch 4 man bobsleigh driver. Four years of sponsorship, training and competing and 2 days before the race starts he sh1ts himself and pulls out letting down his teamates, crew, supporters and sponsors. Wonder if they let him back in the country.
