This event is probably not the one that catches the eye of the public too much.
4 runs to be held, starts late today, finishes off tomorrow evening.
Do we have any information that makes us on top against the bookies?

Kallie Humphries (5/2) has been winning 3 training runs out of 4. Set a new speed record in one of them and the home fav has been more or less outclassing her rivals so far. I am amazed noone at Betfair has picked this up yet. Training times are often a vital key to predict a race in Bobsleigh, as well as Skeleton. This is due to that the courses are a bit different from each other.
How on earth she is still this price goes beyond understanding. I am sure something will happen after this post.......

Helen Upperton is another home racer, she won the 4th training run. Was 4th in the first and second run. At 15/1 she looks HUGE.
Pre race fav Martini from Germany has not been Top 4 in any of her training runs I believe, she looks far from being a medal prospect even. Would not bet her myself at 4/1.

What price should one take on Humprhies then, what is the lowest?
According to me, she should have 40%. Upperton around 10-12%.

Boyles have top prices on the top 2 candians you mentioned, I current'y have a max bet of about £3 with SJ after last week now
I think because of some of the teams pulling out/crashing has caused the suspended markets, only reason I can think of |

So far I've backed Rush, Pain, Hollingsworth, Guay, Dixon, Osborne Paradis on the back of training performances and Groves on the back of actual performances and all bar one have managed to feck it up. Not to mention I've also had them to do well on the medal markets. I've gone in again but without any confidence. How many chances do they actually need? Jeez they are hopeless.

Practise times were a good guide in the womens skeleton from what the RP tipped so can you tell us where you got the times for the bobsleigh?

Practice times were available for the skeleton (weren't that good a guide tbh) but there's no times to my knowledge for the womens bob just snippets of info which confirm what Sasslokk said ie they confirm placings NOT times. Use your iniative and you will find them

For some reason I couldn't find the full times for the mens 2 man bob either.
I actually think Shauna Rohbock is a good shout for a win/medal, with the change to the 50:50 corner, and nobody having practised on it, the training times might lose some of their relevance anyway |

I could find the skeleton and luge ones on other sites, but not bob. Besides, as I said, with the change to the course, perhaps they aren't that useful

well I certainly wouldn't get involved without them...admittedly some don't really go for it in training but they are guilty of this throughout the year

I am amazed you still can get anything over 2/1 on the Canadian.
The times are out, and if you calculate the 4 training runs, you get one person that is WAY BETTER than anyone else. And the 2nd one is the one mentioned at start of this thread. If you are miles away in training, 4 training runs, the same amount that goes for in the competition, you wont be ahead that time in the real runs, no matter what. |

Both German sleds put down solid times yesterday in the final training session. Humphries didn't bother and Upperton just took one run in a decent time.
Track is apparently quite fast. Could be a couple crashes. |

Other sliders seem to be gaining some degree of comfort. USA 1 pilot Shauna Rohbock initially said: "Obviously, I think you have the nerves of the Olympics, but I think it's more of a crashing track." After a few practice runs, she said: "I feel mainly comfortable with the whole track except for (corners) four and five right now. I just don't get it."

Humphries - Kiriasis
Run 1 Humphries 26/100 ahead Run 2 Humphries 13100 ahead Run 3 Humphries 27/100 ahead Run 4 Humphries 57/100 ahead Total: 1,23 sec ahead, beating Kiriasis with a huge margin 3/4 runs. Humphries World Number 2, been training here more than anyone, except the other Canadian, and in full form. Normally noone can get this amount of time back in a race, from training. It just dont happen, unless someone crash. I also think Kiriasis wont be 1,23 sec ahead of Humphries at the end of the day, but I just cant see her get this margin back. It did not happen in the Men's 2 bob, there were no such indications that someone could come from behind like this and make a charge. Soon enough we know if this goes for the Women's Race too. Saslokk...while not disputing your stats..you are aware that Kiriasis has recorded a faster time than Humphries in training I hope?
I'm on Humphries/Upperton too but also based on their form on the course last year |

I am aware of that fact. I am not saying the two Canadians WILL win, but I got 3/1 and 20/1 on them, and based on the info available that is a price that is just way too big.
Based on ranking, training runs, this should only be about 2 Canadians and One German. What reality is, we will find out. Good Luck |

After 1st run with the Top Bobs already finished.
1. Humphries 53,19 sec (New Track Record) 2. Martini +0,09 sec 2. Pac +0,09 sec 4. Kiriasis +0,21 sec 5. Upperton +0,31 sec My impressions: HUMPHRIES - Super start as always, had a bit of a problem in the early/midpart of the run, lost time there to the Germans especially. Was clearly the strongest last 15 seconds of the race and took back the time easily. If she nails the 2nd run, she would gain 2/10 of ALL the others, at least....... Should be no higher than 9/10, it is her's to lose this gold. Martini - Runs the slead nicely, starts decent. Still a good run, but lost time to Humphries in the last 15 seconds. Should take silver. Pac - Perhaps the surprise for me. Very fast start, has had injury worries, so this was a boost for them. Do not think they can last 4 runs with the same consistency. Kiriasis - A slowstarter in comparison to the other Top girls. Already almost 2/10 down, and Humphries did not nail her run at all, as I said. Should take bronze. Upperton - Bit disappointing. Did a few small mistakes, cant afford that. Has to make a perfect 2nd run, in order to be in for a real chance. |

pac could could have breeze to the lead, but was very untidy and i'd expect that to continue, i think if humphries wins it will be down to her starts.

Have to agree with you here, canadian girl looked incredibly fast and without that major mistake (forgot which turn it was) they could easily have a bigger timeadvantage, heavy snow suits Humphries as they are very speedy bobsleigh and good starters generally benefits by that fact, she is the girl to beat, too sad i didnt jump on the 1,01 train )=

Are these women amatures ? all crashing/smashing into sides of track every few seconds,going to be a dangerous accident at this rate from what I have seen,let's hope not however.
