was he not a 1,500m runner ?:| how sh|t are BBC, the same bloody people do every sport, they can't be experts on all them!! Im sure some would argue they ain't experts on any of them.

if you watch the snowboard cross or the ski cross they are constantly calling the wrong people in the lead and don't know what the hell is going on.

It really does amaze me how rubbish their coverage is

How about Claire Balding fronting it? She's an ex-jockey, what the hell does she know about winter sports. Judging from her comments, nothing
To be honest, with us brits not really every had many comeptitors that have competed on the world stage, there aren't many people to call on to commentate. Normally the co-comms have been decent, like the in the skiing, the canadian is very good

i think the idea is u have one comm with broadcasting experience and another comm with experience of the sport. e.g. cram and rhona

its all very well saying the bbc should have expert comms on all the different sports but if u think about it for more than 1 second u will realise this is not really feasible is it? mug

It is not practical for them to get 2 expert commentators for each event. The winter olympics is a minority event and their covergae i s excellent considering how GB is not an ALpine country and are pretty rubbish at most of the events.

Cram and Rhona Martin are doing a good job at the curling. No ego's or trying to be smarter than your co-commentator with these two

Cram is doing a decent job with Rhona.

For us ice hockey fans, you just cannot beat live coverage behind the red button, with no F@#~ing commentary. Couldn't even be ars eed to ask CBC for their feed.

SPACKERS

The BEEB are as clueless as ITV with sports coverage.

I pay my licence fee blah blah blah

Isn't it the normal Ski Sunday team doing these commentaries (Graham Bell, Matt Chilton and Ed Leigh). It does destroy your argument.

Curling been the best commentary of the games. Clearly no idea this poster. (no offence intended lol)

^^^ :D you're right i don't really know anything about most of the sports. i wasn't trying to have a dig at Cram, it was at the BBC. Others have pointed out on the thread that they are minority sports so it would be hard to get people (experts) from each specific sport to commentate on them (which i can accept).

couldn't have Crammy commentating on football - knows feck all about it (follows SAFC)

Crammy and the Scottish bloke with him are clueless. Big jolly on License Payers money...absolute disgrace...more curling shown on the Beeb this year than Horse racing.
