Why does the 1 horse end up starting from stall 4 , now i know the stable had two runners in 1 and 1A but why does the 1 have to move stall

When there is a coupled entry (2 or more horses running for the same trainer) then they always get allocated the 1 and 1A jackets. (Or 2 and 2b etc if there is already a 1 and 1A entry in the race). However for fairness they still have to run from their gate draw so you will often see 1 and 1A horses running from elsewhere in the gate.
