From the last Q&A in January:

Betfair Customer Services    28 Jan 15 17:41
In the last Q&A, you said to "watch this space" regarding in-running betting on USA horse racing as the streams are much faster than they were in the past. Is there any update/news on this or any trials in the pipeline?

This is still very much in progress and, although we cannot commit to a go live date, we are confident that various improvements to our US racing offering will be made in the second half of 2015. As well as the potential to offer in-running on US races, we continue to investigate the possibility of extending the number of tracks offered on the Exchange. We’d welcome any suggestions of tracks you’d like us to consider.

Are there any updates for US racing in-running?

as the starting jump is most important & crucial on the dirt ... it is hard for me to envision just who might be offering the "opposite" bet ... in in-running ... to the horses that would want to be punted after the start

but it should ease the issue with the traders as I see it ... in regards to the early market close situation of the past month (that seems to me as a punter-only not such a major issue)

... but more importantly I guess with any late scratching scenario that can leave traders somewhat exposed due the % deduction adjustments

it would likely be trader vs trader with any in-running imo ... as they would seek to shore up their positions on any exposed bets ... while the streaming delay is still too long I reckon to be viable for the casual win bet punter like myself

an interesting option that is being considered though

In running was done before on Betfair and was a complete disaster.I think I mentioned this to Matt Dowling (now in oz)
at the time.If IR ever come back to us racing we first need a liquid US market which I doubt we will ever have
again and a totally live feed.Last time we have at the races or RUK or bf video.
Someone was taken very short odds last 2 furlong on the horse which appeared bad value yet they was 90% right most of the time.
Obviously a track player who was travelling to the track with the most liquidity on here.
So IR us really is a non starter.

You should offer it. Than the early suspension issue would be resolved!
