Will Rogers Downs is going to start the new throroughbred meet nex Monday (March 16) but this year the race track isn't going to be available on exchange, according to the USA racing schedule made by Betfair.
Moreover, Evangeline opens more or less within one month (April 8). And again, it seems to me that Evangeline isn't going to be available on exchange.
Last months, several race tracks have disappeared from exchange markets: Pimlico, Sunray, Gulfstream, Laurel, Indiana, Finger Lakes and Prairie Meadows are some examples. Beulah Park was closed to open Mahoning Valley, but the new race track is not available on Timeform USA or exchange.
Sportsbook is not the solution. Many punters do want to lay horses.
Please Betfair, give us an answer. Like many punters and traders, I want Will Rogers Downs and Evangeline available on exchange again.
really poor at the moment the fifth cant see it improving and that's a shame used to thrive on here and the forum did not any more, betfair don't give a **** about us racing imo

Can't believe that Will Rogers Downs and Evangeline won't be here on exchange. Because of Mahoning Valley Mountaineer is in trouble, Suffolk was closed and Louisiana Downs is having problems. A slow death for USA horse racing on exchange.

US racing has been a low priority for years for BF, imo, though that is at odds with seemingly increased sponsorship in places, so maybe there is a hidden strategy.
It is a vicious circle. The fewer markets they offer, the fewer casual punters and fewer posters on the forum and it dies a slow death, thereby justifying them offering fewer tracks. it's a shame, as i love the laying potential of the exchanges that you don't get anywhere near so easily with tote betting.

I know many people like me that work until 5pm. We want to place bets on horse racing but we can't follow uk horse racing. So we need USA horse racing to back and lay until 1am or 2am.
USA horse racing has an huge potential for punters. That's why I'm following their races while some people are watching football and tennis. But I need exchange to make money, I don't know how to work with tote, where I can't lay horses or find good odds to dutch.
Betfair, give us a solution! More race tracks for USA horse racing, please!

at that time of night, i.e after 7pm uk time, they are taking £millions from football betting, most days of the week and i've become convinced that is partly why they don't bother with us racing. football betting has way overtaken racing betting amongst casual bettors in the uk in the last 10-20 years.

Betfair Customer Services 28 Jan 15 16:41 In the last Q&A, you said to "watch this space" regarding in-running betting on USA horse racing as the streams are much faster than they were in the past. Is there any update/news on this or any trials in the pipeline? This is still very much in progress and, although we cannot commit to a go live date, we are confident that various improvements to our US racing offering will be made in the second half of 2015. As well as the potential to offer in-running on US races, we continue to investigate the possibility of extending the number of tracks offered on the Exchange. We’d welcome any suggestions of tracks you’d like us to consider.
Hopefully they mean what that say - at long last.
Could be huge if they manage to get this sorted out.

Indeed. We would like them to consider all the major tracks (in answer to the request for input on what tracks we'd like them to consider). Especially gulfstream that they can easily cover and used to, for starters.

I've never seen Santa Anita, Golden Gates or Churchill Downs on exchange, but it would be amazing to have again Gulfstream, Laurel, Indiana, Finger Lakes, Sunray, Pimlico, Atlantic City, Prairie Meadows or Fairmount. We want more markets available on exchange on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, the other days of the week are fine.
Last months we've had a few improvements, Lousiana quarter horse races available on exchange for the first time, and Sam Houston available on Friday and Saturday, I remember that last year SH was available only on Monday and Tuesday.
Don't forget that Suffolk was closed, maybe forever, and that Mountaineer is not ok, because of Mahoning Valley... Sad, Nancy is amazing.
