I watched her ride on Laila Dundee (Keeneland April 6 race 1) and she is clearly quite clueless as a rider. Her knees are nowhere near in contact with the horse which puts all her weight on the stirrups and that is a precarious way to ride. Her whip technique is bloody awful too.

I'm not sure why you need to make the connection to Taylor Rice. Taylor Rice is a talented rider with magnificent balance and a beautiful affinity for the horses she rides. She's been criticized for lack of vigour but she is able to get the most out of her mounts with minimal movement.

A real class act, and I couldn't give a rat's arse who her old man is rooting.

Ok, fair enough. My apologies.

I've really noticed a huge difference in the quality of different riders in America. I watch mostly New York races and the riders there are generally pretty good. It seems surprising that a rider of Arriane Cox's ability (or lack thereof) is able to get a gig at a high profile track like Keeneland. Must be something to do with family connections or something. Who knows?

In Australia we have our good riders and our not-so-good riders but the gap in quality between the best and the worst isn't as great as it is in America, in my opinion.

must be through wayne rice surely and do agree about her knees lol. the better circuits attract the better jockeys i suppose even though when you think about it the top riders all started at the lesser tracks. penn national is the worst by far imo the jockeys play to their owm rules there
