Why do US favourites have so much bigger odds to be placed than uk favourites.
Yesterday there was a 5 runner race (3 non runners) so there were 3 to be placed
favourite was about 5/4 and two of the 5 runners were big outsiders with odds of 40/1
and you could get odds of 1.23

in an uk race like this you would hardly get 1.1

I can remember an uk chase with denman. 7 runners/2 places. He was 1.08 to be placed. So there is also a chance to fall which cant happen in flat racing.
Denman was pulled up in that race.
