Can you explain me these weird market movements in the usa. 1A was 1/9 30 minutes before the start then drifted to 5/1 about 10 minutes before the start. If you are at the track, were you really able to back at 5/1 the favourite |

hi dom, it is tote betting only over there, (i.e. pools betting) so very early on the prices are often unrealistic when markets are just forming, which is why it is often best to watch the prices in the run up and place your bet late on (unless you spot a value one early and you know it will lengthen/shorten as more money comes. at the end the SP is what everyone will get with tote betting

I actually wanted to bet 1A to be placed, but when I saw 5/1 in the us and 2.7 to win here it put me off. I thought someone is in the know. |

the relationship between the 2 prices is always good to keep an eye on. if something is much bigger on here to lay than the tote, it often means it is very unlikely to win.
