Stand corrected peg am Married so that strictly doesn't make me a total loner, however loser well yep double barrelled loser loser
Gd times genius my children are going to school with all sorts of phrases sayings etc
Remember a particular UK race where my eldest asked me why I wanted to stick another horse over the rail, bit over zealous that commentary from me

If you want to know which horses to lay on the other tracks then just ask what i'm backing
Well done all winners at Penn (Gov etc).
Does my old pal Book still post on here or did you actually go to the purple site?

Genius agree I rarely played the turf races often messy and not always guaranteed the pace etc etc
However my approach to picking horses has been refined over the years so now I play them a bit more
4 in that race was like finding a precious £1 coin and magnifying it into a near enough lovely **** and hen

Reckon laying mine from 2000 - 2010 would have allowed you a pick of any European country. I stank worse than a skunk
Still you lose and learn now I smell slightly better

I only ever bet on American racing if i am a little hacked off after betting on English racing and think i deserved a bit better from what i got that day so i sometimes bet on American racing to nick a bit of money. To be honest i always either win a couple of hundred or lose a couple of hundred - I don't do any better or worse so on the face of it, it would appear completely pointless for me but sometimes when i do win a couple of hundred i will have a bit more on a horse i fancy at say Kempton which will go in at 8/1+ so the momemtum swing is good. The bonus is when i lose on the American racing i don't let it reduce my stakes the next day on English racing.

Sounds like you guys make pretty good money from it. The only track i get a bit of a feel for is MP, it's probably because i like racecourses which have a bit of a shady history!

Turf Paradise is my favourite, i actually make a decent profit on that but nobody else likes it! I also like Tampa Bay Downs, Angel Serpa on the turf track is different gear

I don't really have the time to make it pay. Though you can take rules from the American racing and reapply and make some good returns
Have had the odd gd news story at Lingfield and Wolves from this.
US more in suiting for me work young family allows me to stay up late and study a bit and maybe sometimes win.

Unfortunately Swagger, you can't win on here until you have lost, unless you are extremely fortunate or working with a marked card, pays to be selective on the US racing by concentrating on certain tracks that you get a feel for.
Takes time but is worth the wait and the work, doesn't suit everyone, some people can play many tracks and still work a profit, for me though I prefer a few tracks to work from, Penn being No 1 for me, together with MP/Chas, and I'm not averse to cherry picking races when the odds look in my favour.

Fair Governor. I always lose money at Penn, Charles Town, Sunland Park, PD etc try to avoid all those tracks. I do ok at MP, Turf Paradise and Tampa Bay. I used to do really well at Woodbine but have done my brains there the last few times so have left that track as well!

I agree CL, i think in order to make ok money from betting on American racing you need to know more about the tracks, jockeys, the market, the form etc all of which i don't - i primarily go on the market and the vibe about the prices so i generally back horses priced between 2/1-5/1 and don't bet massive so i just try and win a bit of stake money for English racing. I think Kempton is a great track to bet on in England.

Swagger spin it round what do you do well on UK Racing
Apply that logic to US racing you probably wouldn't be that far off the mark
Genius (Cork) is the only person at Penn that seems to have a real gd grasp of the track. Am convinced as he picks plenty of horses that I fancy he has a ratio which say only 50% is down to current speed form etc.
Could be wrong

Think you have to kinda throw away the good habits built up at mnr and penn and adopt a slop mentality which isn't ideal.
Could probably make money there but cba to pay more money on form be losing my nights profits paying for racecards

Can't beat that secret ingredient we all rely on gov, gut instinct, have missed playing regularly, you certainly realise how important it is to see all the races a couple of times, when you start picking without having seen any, just little things you can make note of that no form guide will ever tell you, can make all the difference.

Yes i agree you have to almost pay to lose a load of money first before you start making profits. Also agree abuot Gut Instinct when you just know a horse will win, it's like being in the zone in the matrix when you have everything covered (like form, track, going, distance, jockey, market etc) without needing to look, those are the best bets

MP R4 hard to assess with 2 & 8 making debuts, feel drawn to the 1a, AJ should be on to advise whether to play it or not, where is he tonight...? With 3 places gone with 1a mostly place, gl all

cheers swagger, good thing about this forum gov, lost a lot of people in the last couple of years, but thankfully those that remain are all decent posters, longtime since we have had a regular stalker or nuisance poster (hopefully that won't be the green light for one to come on board...!)

Agree cork had reservations on the 8 and at tote odds nah but he was lone speed and had the best times at 2/1 plus it was a win bet.
Could easily have walked off course lame after 3f though

For what it's worth i will put up a few selections i like for Kempton, i'm not saying to back them but just to have them here and we can go through how badly or well i did! Last time i put up the Paul Cole horse Thachit who to be fair was hammered by the Hannon hotpot.
In the 6.30 I think it's between Dukes Delight and Hermosa Vaquera, both been well supported in the market in the past, both 3 year olds so get the weight for age benefit which I think is healthy this time of the year and importantly I think they will both improve for the step up in trip. They are pretty obvious selections, the market will tell me more nearer the race. I can see the Lanigan horse (Dukes Delight) getting overbacked again which would make the Chapple-Hyam horse of more appeal or they could start closer to joint favs which would make Dukes Delight of more appeal.
I think Stoute's horse, Festival Theatre is potentially smart so would side with him in the 7.05
In the 8.00Miss Tiger Lily is a real fighter and only does enough to win. Her sire Verglas has a good record at Kempton and I would expect her to win again.
Purely from a handicapping perspective, with the 7 lbs claimer Tim Clark riding, who i think is capable, in the 8.30Equitania is going to be a huge price around 14/1+. Missed the break last time at Ascot but had run ok at Newmarket the time before. This is a step down in grade. I don't like the Gosden horse Ferjaan, not sure about Agerzem and Badr Al Badoor so will take a chance on Alan Baileys horse.
Finally in the 21.00 i have been waiting for Camache Queen to hit the right note and with the booking of Richard Hughes, she could easily exploit her favourable handicap mark tomorrow. Currently around 12/1 I would expect her to get well backed if that is the case.
Just a few bits and pieces. I like a few on wednesday so even if i draw a blank tomorrow i will put up wednesdays food for thoughts!
Night and good luck all
