CONQUESTA turned in big effort off the claim, wheels back in two weeks for lesser tag. Need only repeat that performance to take the opener. ENGLISH CROSSING adds blinkers after failing to duplicate 2013 bow, this tag, on 1/27. SNIT FIT made a four wide run around the second turn to take the lead, faded late trying grass for the first time and eligible to improve with that race under her belt. ----------------------- 10 CONQUESTA is dropping to the $35,000 level, and turning back to a mile, after surrendering an early 3-length lead to get beat a neck vs. $50,000 maidens at a mile and a sixteenth. Trainer Marty Wolfson has leading jock Javier Castellano in the saddle again. 4 SNIT FIT is hoping to make amends after making what looked like a 3-wide winning move before yielding late to finish fourth, as the lukewarm favorite, at this level and distance last out. Trainer Antonio Sano has Luis Saez named to ride. 6 ENGLISH CROSSING, a good second at this level and distance on January 27th, drops, and wears blinkers, after tracking 3-wide and finishing sixth behind Conquesta last out. Trainer John Mattine has Jesus Castanon handling her third start back from the layoff. |
