The Midwest T h o r o u g h b r e d s - owned NEW ENGLANDER comes off a couple close second-place finishes, including
last time out at this level when gong a longer distance; c u t b a ck to 5 1/2 furlongs is perfect for her and her stalking
style; she won at this distance the last time she raced it in October. IMPERIAL LUCK is a speedy win machine,
but goes from a high % barn to a lower % one off the claim and could regr e s s ;p rior connections ran her for this
tag at 1-5 odds last time - they might have wanted to unload her; so some doubts despite having the strongest
fo rm in here.WINKING STAR chased the pace and faded in fo u rth in her first start here - a respectable effo rt ;
seems a good fit in terms of speed and class, though others in here have run fa s t e r.

8 IMPERIAL LUCK moved to the Saul Matos barn via the claim after posing her second consecutive open-length victory when using her speed to dispatch a field of $10,000 claimers at three-quarters of a mile. The new connections have Fernando Jara handling the turnback to 5 ½ furlongs.
7 NEW ENGLANDER is turning back to one of her better distances (16-5-6-0) after finishing second in three consecutive sprints going longer. Trainer Jamie Ness has go-to jock Javier Castellano in the saddle. 6 MISSY MINER was given time to recharge her batteries after breaking from Post 10, spotting the leader a 10-length cushion, and then rallying 4-wide to score by 2 ½ lengths. Trainer Giuseppe Iadisernia has apprentice Jilver Chamafi going for two in a row.

A fortune of shrewd money on that winner at Penn on here.  Being backed at much lower odds than it was in the tote.  Form was nothing special so someone knew what was happening tonite.  Won by 7 lengths
