I'm definitely agreed, fail to prepare & prepare to fail (or whatever the phrase is).
For me this is a life long learning process. Always going to be something comes along that you hadn't anticipated.

hard race at penn advice 9 small win and more on the place at least he has the outside post to run them down probably needs 5.5 / 6f but this could be a tear up and maybe stamina might help his cause
9 win and place penn

Penn R4 the 2 was most impressive last time out, will it repeat the run though...? The 4 could struggle to hold its place early so going with 2 and hoping it gets a clear passage, gl all

Blue, it was getting very aggitated, jockey bailed, not sure about the full extent of it, but as it was flailing around it had already lost.
I guess I could have layed it back off on here actually & just accepted the difference.

Cork - as we discussed before there are certain tracks with certain barns that when the money is strong they rarely run a bad race. Charles Race 2 was an example

He basically mentioned 3 guys on here to watch out for and a few that were decent judges, you, cork and spiller were the 3.
Obviously as lots of people give winners he has bound to have missed others.

Pro, think the amount is immaterial though most believe the bigger the bank the more chance you have of succeeding, in my experience that creates a false sense of security for people and they don't appreciate it until they hit a bad run and then it is usually too late.
The amount of 10k is sufficient but obviously a lot depends on the type of targets that you would be looking to achieve week in week out.
Theoretically if you had the time, patience and discipline a bank as small as 100 would be enough, but too many people expect/want to hit big straightaway.
The other important thing to remember is to remain positive and accept that you will have losing days, but that your ultimate aim is to eradicate them over time so that they become a blip rather than the other way round when a winning night is the blip. The bank/float also needs to be just that, you should not be in a position where you have to draw from your bank to support you, all well and good banking the surplus whether it be daily/weekly/monthly but the bank should remain as that.
Lastly, if you have responsibilities, partner and children dependent on you, then you have to have your partners full support, preferably silent but nonetheless with you all the way.

Would echo Kriskin on that, thankfully nowadays its very rare we get any disruptive characters on here, everyone is here to make money and I think everybody appreciates that, albeit that at times we take from one another...!

Thanks cork sound advice, am a bit more ambitious than bro he has set a 5 year plan out before possibly ending the rat race of common work.
Personally I would rather both of us gave it a go earlier thanks for the advice
Kriskin seems like a decent bunch of people on here

not sure why 2 is the complete outsider of the field at Penn we both like this horse tonight more so if the 3 had also stayed in
However 2 should run well off the speed tonight win and place 2 penn

Pro, said it to gov and on what I've seen of you would say it applies to you as well, that the raw ability to assess/read a race and make the right selections is there within both of you, the only misgiving I have is whether you'd be able to maintain the required patience and discipline day in day out that doing this full time dictates you need, it is something you learn very quickly though if you do go for it as anything less than 100% focus and you'll be wiped out before you get started.
To be honest though that is something only the individual can know, whether they have the mental strength to cope with the stress that often occurs, especially early on, when you make the switch from recreational to income provider unless you have a safety net which of course then alleviates the usual worries people have.

Pro if you can help yourself to a handy second income then I'd play it that way for now, both yourself and gov have many years ahead of you to make the switch if its what you really want, but not worth risking if there is any doubt at all in your own mind

one of those nights when nothing much stood out to me so haven't played, temptation (especially when its Penn) is always there, but thats when the discipline needs to kick in and stop you playing for the sake of it, have often gone 3 or 4 nights without a play but always like to view for future reference

Agree cork thats what makes you special the discipline
Shame you didnt pile on the 4 horse at Penn I know from the posts you have written that both you and Gov agreed on a lot of selections and respected immensly each others selections
But well done far harder to not punt than punt.
