More life in a morgue.  No one about.  Surely 95% who use to post on the forum is not a PC payer.  As stated I think a lot of people have done their dough following certain posters.  There is still decent money about at some meetings

Think most followed Jas or Spiller. With neither of those two posting picks, there's no point in being here now for many of them.   Still strangely quiet though.

Lord - There is a lot of truth in ur post.  Surely people should be studying their own form.  There was over 55k traded on the last race at Woodbine.  There is still money about as Mr Q stated earlier in the week

There's not as much small money, but there's still plenty going on late. And there's certainly enough in the pools to keep a modest little forum going.   Even Seagram's stopped posting!

Say a Pc player wins 20k a year and has 8k left after 60% has been taken. Then this person without doublt has internet charges/racing post charges replays form etc/drf.com
equibase charges which work out at least $1.50 a card.If he downloads say 5 cards a night and plays say for 300days.
Thats $450 .Then say he hedges some bets into the pools.Example he like horse no1 but thinks the only danger is horse number 2.
So he bets £50 exacta 2-1.Now all these expenses plus many more not highlighted here must come off his
8k.Then he may spend too many hours on here according to his wife /girlfriend so he treats them well by buying presents from his winnings.
Well provinding he doesnt have an unlucky run in the variance of the year he will be left with peanuts at the end of the year.
Moral of the story is the spirit of the exchange that we took from the founders is now dead.

That's true PMBets. But there is still money in the markets. Not everybody on the forum was a big player - I rather suspect the vast majority of them weren't, in fact. So there's no reason why a good number of the old posters shouldn't be able to do what they were still doing. If they become really good players and make £250K overall (the figure may well come down in the future, but it's £250K for now), they can always start playing in the US Pools instead. Or maybe the Duck or a well-funded Asian outfit will be in strong shape by then.

I understand that the Betfair dream is no longer as strong as it was, but there's still money to be made, and there's no reason for the life to have fallen from the forum as dramatically as it has.

Some good guys promoted the racing on here for a long time. They fattened Betfair's coffers over the years while earning a living wage themselves. Whats in it for them in promoting the exchange now??

Does anyone know anything about this newcomer at EvD?  At 2.28, with his workouts and FTS sire stats, I'm laying him.  It's not even a Maiden Special Weight..

There are a few very good fora/forums out there for American racing. The glory days of Jas, Jose, GM10 and others I'm forgetting are long over. If you move elsewhere you get an insight into the thinking of American punters too.

The aul forum is dying a slow here these days.

Funny thing is that nobody is posting on the purple forum either.

The forum on the Purple is pretty dire - more life on Mars. Liquidity for US racing on there is nothing to write home about but consistent. For your average punter it is good enough for most markets.

I came along to play last night around 11.30 pm. Markets had no shape and £200 matched on one race was the best on offer. Decided to give the Purple place a whirl now. Fed up of being bombarded with promotions and adverts in my face when logging in here now. 4 adverts in one afternoon was the straw that broke the camels back for me yesterday.
