well done, melanie.....i'm not wrong as I never said Carmouche made 500K.....If I did, paste it and also name the thread (I know exactly what I said)...post it, comedian....I'm waiting

ask Frankie who the best jock he's ever ridden against is, 1.01 he'd say Jerry Bailey. There are several great riders in U.K, too (Frankie, Moore, etc). As far as cheating goes, unlike UK racing, U.S. racing is straight-forward. There is little incentive not to try. There is no handicap mark to lower, prize money is excellent. The bottom level horses at Philly (horses rated around 55) race for 15K. Top riders at lowly Philly can earn 500k per year. Same goes for the trainers. Owners can make good profits with cheap horses, too. It's the pathetic prize money and the authoritarian handicapping system which make cheating a necessity for connections in the UK.
