Close but no cigar, but we did well to oppose the favourite so it saved us lumping which almost feels like a moral winner! Some people on here must have gone with old Clinton Potts, wd to those who did. We are knocking on the door Book, keep the faith.

I will need to, I thought that was going to win on the bit but just didn't get the split. Like you say, we didn't get the break tonight. But there's always tomorrow.

Thanks Swagger - had a fairly decent bet on the 10 but have just noticed it wasn't fully matched. Typical but it sounds like I was lucky according to book.

An unlucky punter who died shortly after missing out on a jackpot worth almost £1m is to have a special horse race held in his honour. Bookmakers Betfred have announced they are to stage a race in December in memory of Jack Lee from Walkergate, Newcastle, who died on Tuesday aged 75. He was due to be presented with £15,000 as a goodwill gesture by the winner of a similar multiple bet from Manchester. The race will be held at Newcastle Racecourse on 18 December. Mr Lee missed out on £857,714 worth of winnings for just a £2 stake after one of his selections, Babodana, was disqualified from first place in the Ben Marshall Stakes at Newmarket on 30 October. Stuart Bolland planned to share some winnings with Jack Lee He died just hours before he was due to be presented with £15,000 as a gesture of goodwill from the following weekend's Scoop6 winner, Stuart Bolland, from Cadishead, Greater Manchester, at a press conference arranged by Betfred in Manchester. Betfred's Paul Quigley said: "It is quite fitting that we are having a race named after him. Newcastle was Jack's home track and he was a true gent "And at Newcastle racecourse I think the ordinary people will be really pleased that we are putting a race on for him because he was such a good guy and people could relate to him."

Seagream - I'm looking forward to Cheltenham next week, starting to get excited now I have to say. I think the ground could be exactly the same as last year provided Ciasse doesn't water. I'm hoping it will rain tomorrow morning which keep the hosepipe away! Are you all set for the week?

Are you going to Cheltenham Swagger. Have managed to get a ticket to someone's box on friday. Looking forward to it though the traffic will of course be dreadful. Might go by train and get into town very early for some brekkie and detailed form study!

Cant - I used to go every year but it's the most serious weeks betting in the year for me now and I just can't go on track to watch the races as I consider so much information for certain races and if I leave my bet late I don't want to be messing around trying to barge through walls of people to get a bet on. The first few years I went I wasn't betting large sums so I absolutely loved it, the atmosphere was amazing and it was different to anything I had previously experienced. But over the years, it has just got more crowded, I can't get a drink without queuing for ages, the whole place just does my head in now.
You are going to a box though so it will be very good in there and much more relaxed than in Club or tatts and yes I would suggest you get there early by train. Have a great time.

My serious Cheltenham bets will have been placed this week now the non-runner no bet concession is up and running. May do a couple of bets in the morning and a Lucky 31. Anything I do in the afternoon will be strictly fun unless something catches my eye in the away meetings. Have to say the friday is the least appealing for me punting wise. Have been many time before quite often with a share in a horse including the great Teeton Mill but not had much luck. Seem to specialise in buying good horses that only perform on a flat track!

Cant - Wow Teeton Mill! I have to admit it was a bit before my time, but the horse rings a bell - King George winner I remember reading it. You must have owned some very good horses. I only first got into national horse racing when Rooster Booster won his first Champion Hurdle but haven't looked back since. I wish you the very best of luck next week.

i neeed to ask a complicated question... i had 73 red on all runners and 538 green on the 6 after the 8 was WD i could lay off at 4.5 approx for green screen with 250 odd on the 6.
my question is: is there deductions to come if the 6 had won or was it already deducted when the 8 was WD?

horts laying the favs blind at Australia has often proved gd money for me the standard of jockeys and the way things get overbet usually results in the markets being a poor guide.
