still not settled
Report Jez Melb Punter February 12, 2011 10:12 AM GMT
Now settled.

Took a ridiculous amount of time.

I've got my money back for a bet I placed (lay) against the 3 in the race.  Though I am dead set positive I placed it prior to the off.

It was well before the 9am start time (Australian time).

My account statement hasn't been updated to show the bet placed time surprise surprise - I'm hoping it does update so I can dispute it, if necessary.

Whilst I understand technical issues occur, just under 12 hours to remedy a problem, in settling a market is pretty poor.
Report Jez Melb Punter February 12, 2011 10:21 AM GMT
I'm wrong.

I did place the bet after the off.

Well there ya go!  Shocked

Still a pretty unacceptable timeframe for resolving a technical issue with a market - and I had to email to get information - would there of been any harm in sending all bettors within the market an email advising of the situation and an indefinete delay?

Good punting all.

This is ridiculous.

The money that returned to my account - a refund of my bet.

Has now disappeared and on checking the market - it hasn't been settled.

This is a joke Betfair - farcical.

Over 14 hours and no settlement of the bet... I have emailed twice and received no update, I have phoned twice and been told there is no timeframe for settling the market... I'm pretty good customer... I understand the complexities involved if a non in play market is not suspended at the off but 14 hours is simply not acceptable. My patients is wearing thin now.

...there is no timeframe for settling the market?
That is not good to hear.
Report pizzaro February 12, 2011 1:43 PM GMT
betfair left the market open many bets struck after race finnished their problem.
they dont say anything when their 40 secs infront of everyone  else, they take the moneys so whats the difference

settle up and smile
Report ToteJackpot February 12, 2011 2:21 PM GMT
Indeed.  If the market is left open after the off and with odds still showing available to punters for back and lay until the end of the race, then it is their fault and they should pay out.
If they are not going to honour this then refund as void, prompt.

In both cases, one should not expect to have to wait 15 hours plus to receive either monies back?

It Has
Report ToteJackpot February 12, 2011 7:37 PM GMT
My transaction for this race has finally been settled now - though only been refunded my stake for the horse that I backed - which won the race.

My Account Statement also hasn't been updated (as of yet) and isn't showing the time of the bet I placed and it's Ref Id to explain the refund.

What a shenanigans.
