Breeders Cup Thoughts - Early...

SMH, I've been shouting BLAME's name on these forums for a long time now, so I'm totally on board with your thoughts on that one, except I feel stronger about the runner than you do (and besides I'm a big score or nothing kind of a punter) so no E/W for me. As for the rest, I'll wait until we get a little closer to the date to comment on. Final works can you give a lot of clues in a runners condition coming into to this and in some races the way they draw could be vital.

In the meantime, I keep putting up "you go girl" at a great price in the "rooting market" for the clueless lemmings who don't have the balls to express an opinion other than to say "nothing would surprise me".

The usual nonsense from the betfair clowns - thanks guys - am laying these selections as I type - blame...?  You are kidding me aren't you?  Such a hyped load of garbage - couldn't beat a few donkeys last time out, how in under of god is it going to beat the few pieces of real quality in this field (classic)?  Zenyatta all the way (Lucky very very close by) - but you begrudging clowns will still find fault.

Midday is a total and utter banker - nothing in that field can get near her!

The rest - poor/mediocre races and hard to call in a poor crop of 2year olds and 3year olds.

No need for match bets for me nor putting my money where my mouth is - I am a small time punter who enjoys a sizeable punt at the right time when I see a star!  I have been following a few stars the last few years who have paid me well!  5/1 on zenyatta a few weeks ago was just plain too good to resist - so I have indulged myself - I don't gamble with any nostalgia or romantic notions in my head - Zenyatta is rare one and I really don't see her getting beat ever, I don't care too much for records or 20 for 20 just plain and simple winning!  Very confident she'll oblige just like she did last year - I backed her then and I have backed her now.

On the classic - I only fear Lucky, no one else not blame not anyone else.

I appreciate your point about hot favs going to the BC and blowing up or failing to deliver - Midday won last year, has a top top trainer who gets his charges ready when it matters and has simply been supreme this year - in short ALL the boxes are ticked and I see no one who will get anywhere near her!

Goldi needs no words from me - her record says it all!  I didnt know that there was a new directive which made it illegal to tip favs - I ll follow your example in the future and ONLY tip losers - short price or big price but losers non the less!  Now where do I need to learn this science cos i am plainly not very good at it so education in your art is what I require...........?

wantono, very impressive post........well, almost, but solid effort nevertheless. David Cameron's media relations team can take a few lessons here. Let's have a closer look:

"I'm 65 yrs old" - totally irrelevant to the subject matter BUT.......it implies "old age", "experience", "wisdom", "been-there-done--that", so your post starts off with a subtle "trust me, I know my staff" for the reader. Very well done.

"last year I went to the Breeders Cup" - again totally irrelevant to the subject matter BUT.....it implies to the reader "I'm not a casual punter", "my interest in this game is very serious" again used in a very interesting way to gain the readers confidence. Very good show.

"I'm gonna say this once so listen up" - totally irrelevant BUT.....it suggests "authority", "confidence" and someone with a bias for "action". Brilliant stuff from you here.

"fill ya boots!" - very emphatic closing including the use of the exclamation mark again suggesting not only "confidence" but a healthy dose of "generosity" for sharing your wisdom with the reader. Excellent, excellent, excellent, I know of PR firms who couldn't do as good of a job.




The only fly in the ointment is your line "Zenyatta is the best race horse in the world at the moment" which truly reveals how f@cking clueless you real are.

Good luck with your selection Mr. Wantono....Zenyatta won me over with her Classic run last year.  It'll be tough to go 20-20, but I'm certainly going to be rooting for her.  A gigantic black filly that comes from last to win all 19 starts, brilliant personality and extremely game, too.  Couldn't write a better script.  Would be great for racing if she could get the job done.

Final works can you give a lot of clues in a runners condition coming into to this...here we have thecomedian trying to sound shrewd...... but anyone with a clue knows, just from this comment, that thecomedian is a mug...why? unless you have detailed knowledge of each horse and how they are ridden in each workout, or what their idiosyncrasies are, workouts are nothing more than a false flag....or maybe he is going to tune into the TVG Works to hear the talking heads say that every horse looks ready for a top effort....PMSL

Back to horsercing lads... people have different opinons, get over it.  On the classic - I think only Blame appears to have the the turn of foot to overcome Zenyatta... but I dont think he will, Zenyatta has such great heart and a dwins most of her races with amazing bursts in the last 100 yeards when most other horses can simply give no more.  I cant see here being out of the top 3 in a million years so for the conservative punter I think odds of 4/1 make her a foolproof each way bet.

The Mile should be interseting... Goldikova has had a hard enough campaign this year and I think Paco Boy might have it in him to turn her over this time having been unlucky earlier in the year.

Midday and Goldikova are particular favourites of mine so I couldn't desert them. Debussy could run well in the Turf and while I think Zenyatta is a wonderful animal I think Lookin at Lucky could win the Classic.
