Report Cork Langer October 14, 2010 12:15 AM BST
Think pulgita got fed up because no one was talking to him, whatever you do don't just post numbers, he definitely won't reply then...!

Wood the 1 a back for me
Report Cork Langer October 14, 2010 12:17 AM BST
Great stuff 1 virtually pulled up
Report Keefter October 14, 2010 12:18 AM BST
I'm in Pulg, I was initially put off my its relative weakness in the amrket on here, but it looks like the markets being heavily manipulted so 2.30 could be a bit of a bargain (queue it jumping off 7/5)
Report Keefter October 14, 2010 12:23 AM BST
ah I get it now having just read through some of the more recent posts on here. lol, he has a point, there used to be some good posters but the spiller style of posting has taken off big time. nothing but numbers.
Report Cork Langer October 14, 2010 12:24 AM BST
Sympathy to anyone that backed the fav at Penn, dreadful ride would be an understatement...!

Report Keefter October 14, 2010 12:32 AM BST
no apology needed mate, those 4f races at CT are a bit of a lottery, it needed to get across and get the lead from 6 and it couldnt, was game over then.
Report Keefter October 14, 2010 12:33 AM BST
besides, I've made pplenty following some of your advice at CT. you cant win um all.
Report Cork Langer October 14, 2010 12:33 AM BST
Strange thing about that race at Chas wouldn't back fav as thought price was too generous, similarly wouldn't back 2 for the place as again the price (above Evs) seemed wrong.
Perhaps too much attention to the market can be just as bad for you as none...!
Report Keefter October 14, 2010 12:36 AM BST
It used to be a great indicator Cork, these days there seems too much money being matched in and around the same price with little movement. had it been 1.65 and drifted to 2.30 I wouldn't have touched it, but it was held at the steady price for almost 10 minutes before the race, in that situation i pay far less attention to it.
Report Cork Langer October 14, 2010 12:43 AM BST
Penn R4 - the 7 very short, happy to take it on, think 2,3,5 & 8 all have as good if not better chance of winning, lay of 7 backed 5 & 8
Report Keefter October 14, 2010 12:45 AM BST
8-7-3 Tri for me for $10, looks a tw@t of a race.

7 will get thrown out at Penn
Report Cork Langer October 14, 2010 12:56 AM BST
All might not yet be lost at Penn, with three objections got to be a good chance of dq
Report Kriskin October 14, 2010 12:56 AM BST
the 7 at Penn should be placed last

Report Cork Langer October 14, 2010 1:00 AM BST
Apologies to backers of the 7, but that is a big relief to me
Report Keefter October 14, 2010 1:03 AM BST
not sure anyone backed it tbh Cork, glad it saved you a bit and got your lay liability back.
Report Keefter October 14, 2010 1:04 AM BST
Pulgita, indulging in any Copa Sudamericana action tonight? 2 games both at 2am, overs in both imo. had a look through some recent results and decided i'm going to be on overs in both.
Report fullback October 14, 2010 1:10 AM BST
Good man Langer. You know your stuff.  Thank you.
Report dalfarra. October 14, 2010 1:11 AM BST
WTF? What happened to the 7?! Was it declared a non-runner?
Report Cork Langer October 14, 2010 1:11 AM BST
Wood hoping 4 is granted a soft lead and has enough left in the stretch to hold them off
Report Keefter October 14, 2010 1:15 AM BST
last 3 races for me I think, laying teh 1 at Woodbine, think it will try to make all and something will pick it up wide in the closing stages. doing a 1/5 boxed exacta at CT, both horses exit the same key race and I think they'll be involved in the finish. and finally at Penn I'm backing the 3.
Report Keefter October 14, 2010 1:17 AM BST
bah, thought the 1 would lead, sat just off the pace and won easily.
Report Cork Langer October 14, 2010 1:18 AM BST
No easy lead, Jones to alert and good to be outsmarted
Report Keefter October 14, 2010 1:22 AM BST
well at least the 3 got the job done at Penn.
Report Cork Langer October 14, 2010 1:23 AM BST
wd on the 3 keefter
Report Keefter October 14, 2010 1:25 AM BST
cheers Cork, that 5 at CT was a let down, went out like a light. but got a profit from the 3 races. might as well stick about for the last batch of 3.
Report Cork Langer October 14, 2010 1:42 AM BST
Wood small play on the 4 and Chas backed the 2
Report Nachete October 14, 2010 2:20 AM BST
Have you watched the 7th race at Penn?

The all time favourite Myakka City (odds at 1.8 to win, 1.32 to place) gets home LAST OF THE FIVE, completely tailed off...

It's not the first time I see something similar in those US races.

¿Fixed?  Confused
Report Brodie October 14, 2010 2:48 AM BST
omg ,nice
Report Cork Langer October 14, 2010 2:57 AM BST
Pity you didn't think to post it before race as proof pulgita, they could have all feasted off your hard work then....!

Penn R9 the 5 is too short, backed the 3 for place
Report LordBobbbin October 14, 2010 12:09 PM BST
To be fair to Pulg, I think he does have a point Cork..  Too many people are far too keen to jump up and shout 'fix', when, had they taken a bit of time to look at the form, they would have seen that the big fave wasn't all that he was cracked up to be.

The horse was strong over a couple of races at the 40K-50K level (and, before that, fantastic over 20K). It gets claimed by a new trainer who takes a couple of months to inspect it before dropping it right down to the 10K level. If the trainer appears to have that little confidence in a horse he's just spent 40K on, shouldn't that ring a few alarm bells with punters? (Particularly given that its last performance was its slowest for a number of races - a further decline in form would have had it falling very much into the clutches of those 10K horses.)

Chuck in the fact that all five of the horses going to post like to be on the lead or close to it early on, and you had plenty of potential for a strange result.

There were more than enough hints there that somebody shouldn't be taking the fave at short odds. There are certainly some crooked races in the US that nobody can account for, but that wasn't one of them. Sorry Nachete, but you're the one to blame here.
Report Cork Langer October 14, 2010 6:12 PM BST
Not disputing his point Lord B merely pointing out that said information was no use after the event, good luck to him for doing the work and prospering from it.
He chose not to share his thoughts pre-race which is his prerogative but to then rub it in to someone that had obviously backed it seemed in bad taste and will gain no credibility with others, after all, we could all give reasons after the event.
Report LordBobbbin October 14, 2010 7:32 PM BST
I see your point Cork, but I do think that if the guy was coming on and saying his horse lost because the race was crooked, when there were in fact plenty of reasons for being dubious about it, then it's probably best for him if people here 'show' him what he may have missed.  He could just be left to his ravings, but would he learn anything from that?  Perhaps now he'll go back and look over the form and see that he probably shouldn't have been going odds-on on that horse, and that may save him from losing money on a similar race in the future.

Even in US Racing, I think crying 'fix' is quite serious, and people shouldn't simply hide behind it when there are possibly better reasons for their bet having lost.
Report Cork Langer October 14, 2010 8:39 PM BST
Complete waste of time Lord B, the type of punter who blindly backs odds on shots will go through life doing so and never refer to a formsheet, they win or lose, never question themselves, if it wins its because they knew it was a good thing, if it loses, then its because everything is crooked, they are  no different the world over, every bookies has them from memory and on Betfair they post in their hundreds...!
Report LordBobbbin October 15, 2010 1:12 AM BST
Yeah, you're probably right Cork.  Almost certainly a hopeless case.  If so, I hope he's stupid enough to hang around long enough to give us all his money rather than a portion of it!
