if betfair get an exchange licence in california.how will that affect punters over here.will it make any difference over here.

Just a couple of points on that:
1. The State of California is broke. When you force furloughs on State employees and issue IOU's to State contractors, that more or less defines your financial state of affairs. As a result, the California legislature has other more serious worries right now than wasting time in the bureaucratic mess passing "exchange betting" legislation would be, INCLUDING convincing the US Congress in Wash, DC, to change the FEDERAL law. 2. Legislation that would increase the takeout for exotic bets in California and permit the development of exchange betting in the state was altered over the weekend to delay the implementation of exchange betting until May 2012 at the earliest, according to industry officials. http://www.drf.com/news/no-california-exchange-betting-till-2012-bill-says Bottom line, don't hold your breath for Betfair to operate in NJ, California, or anywhere else in the US in the foreseeable future. |

Currently ,the only reason to play California is they have the lowest takeouts on exotic pools.
The quick fix of raising takeouts has been the deathknell of many lesser tracks. |

Instead of lowering takeout a point or two and allowing exchange games, these bureaucratic pin-heads do the opposite! These geniuses can't see beyond their noses, FFS....and what about this "need" to study exchange betting for the next 18 months? Dear god, exchange betting has been around for more than 10 years....way to stay 1 step ahead of the crowd, boys! well done! No wonder everything is heading off a cliff....buy gold and silver
