Not very keen on this race, but I think the strong pace scenario favours the 5, so will back him a little to place.

Evening Rowan
1A not running, I liked the 5 but it's a sloppy track so I think I'll sit it out |
By:
well read Lord.
By:
Thanks Rowan
By:
I don't know if it's just the quality of my video feed, but that track at FL doesn't look all that sloppy to me. Does anyone know how much rain they had and how long ago it fell?
By:
It's rated 'good' now. Didn't look sloppy to me either.
By:
Ah. That makes sense. Thanks.

FL R2
This is the right trip and grade for the 1 and it might win emphatically, but I think the 5 is underestimated chasing this fast pace at 11.0+. |
By:
Last four times out the 5 hs chased fairly slow paces. Could improve here.
By:
Backing the 6 to carry on his good form of his last race at FL. 1.8+ to place in the top three seems a very solid bet to me.
By:
Bad luck on the 5 Rowan. Came pretty close for an 11.0 shot...
By:
Well done Lord. I thought that last race from the 6 was suspicious, although it's definitely improved since moving to the Bruce Anderson barn. I think that race was considerably easier though and the big Beyer rating it recorded owed to the fact it was allowed to run well clear of the field early on.
By:
owed a lot*
By:
Agreed Rowan. I spent far too long deciding not to have a bet at Saratoga and only spent a couple of minutes analysing that race, so I think I got a little lucky. The time from the 6's last race was much better than those notched up by these other horses though, and I figured perhaps the new trainer had found out that the 6 was more of a router. At almost evens for the place I thought there was some value there..

6 at Wood
By:
Lord. Yep. I agree about the Beyer rating it got for the race. Looked very good on the basis of that.
2.0+ for the 7 in the next at FL is good if you can get it imo. Comfortable with the trip. Comfortable winning from off the pace. Top jockey/ trainer combo. Solid form. |
By:
OK. No chance of evens. lol.
By:
Hmmm, I'll take 1.8. Really like this.
By:
The 7 certainly ought to be the best. A bit too short for me, but good luck.
By:
3-1-4 Wood, 6 wasn't a factor |
By:
Thanks. Only need a 53% strikrate to make 1.9 shots pay, and I think this is very tough to beat.
By:
Well left Lord. Worn down after long duel.
By:
Bad luck. That's why I prefer Place bets!
By:
lol. The prices are shorter though.
By:
Yup, they are. And the pools much smaller. (Luckily I'm enough of a tiddler that that doesn't currently bother me, but some day...)
By:
jockey on 3 at dela nearly messed up there
By:
I'm not a big player either Lord, but I'm growing in confidence that I have an edge over this market, so yeah, one day!
By:
FL R4
Pace will suit closers 4 and 8 imo, but 4 closes from far too deep for me. The 8 is my favourite to win the race. |
By:
FL R4: 7-8-4

By:
Chancing a little on the 5 to place at Del. Think it had much the toughest of the races of the horses who have raced before. Seems quite fast on pace figs and should do better this time. Would prefer 3 place though.
By:
Crikey. That's messed things up at Del. 5 and the 2 gone! May have to plump for Pulgita's pick. Ulp!
By:
Yeah. Wasn't very pleasant to watch. Hope they're alright.
By:
lol Pulgita. What do you mean?
FL R5 3. Impressive debut. Likely to improve second time out 5. New york shipper, dropping in class. 2 bullet workouts last month for new barn. 8. 'Forced out' and 'checked' last time out. Good race two back. |
By:
Trying out the 4 at FL. Like the workout patterns and the sire's pretty decent for FTS. 3.0+ is pretty juicy for 3 Places.
By:
I like the 8 at 7.0+.
By:
4 w/p very small @FL
By:
Brilliant call Simon.
By:
Very decent showing from the 4. A bit green, but he'll hopefully improve for the run.
By:
Oh well done Lord as well.
