Hey all,
I've decided i'm going to head over to the Breeders Cup this year.
I've been racing i the US before but not the BC and it's slightly different from over here in that most of the tickets for sale seem to be for seats.
Ticket go on sale in June, does anyone know if there will be general admission tickets on sale also (without seats) and if these need to be booked up front or can be paid on the day?
Also is there much viewing room trackside if you son't have a seat at Churchill Downs? It didn't look that way at the Derby but maybe i missed it.
If Zenyatta shows up it could be jammed in which case i think a seat might be a good option...what do you reckon?

Been to the last three BC meets - No need to buy tickets up front unless you want special seats in grandstand with a particular view!
Just pay on the day - CD holds 120,000 people I gather and will never in a million years be filled for the BC ( it is only ever filled for the 'roses'). Even with the great zenyatta there, there will still be plenty of room I am sure. |

Can you get a decent view of the track without the seats, looked as iff the seat were right up to the rails on the tv for the Derby but that might have only been in certain sections |

be carfull, the last 3 have been in santa anita twice, befor that was monmouth, and the one befor that was churchill downs, i was there, and there was no admission on the day to trackside, the boxs are just pens, and the tickets was fcukin expensive, you will get deals on e bay later, or they may reduce the prices as the did last year, you can get cheaper hotels justacross the bridge in indiana, as louisville will be expensive if its not sold out already, if you want to know more just ask.
by the way, it was cold, and the breakfast the day before was great, and the museams worth a visit as well. |

Breeders' Cup tickets go on sale June 5 The Breeders' Cup and Churchill Downs announced Wednesday that tickets for this year's Breeders' Cup World Championships, scheduled for November 5-6, will go on sale at noon (EDT) on June 5. It is the first time that Churchill Downs will host the event under the two-day Championship format, which began in 2007. Breeders' Cup Friday will begin at 2 p.m. and finish under the lights at approximately 7:30 p.m. with the $2 million Breeders' Cup Ladies' Classic (G1). Saturday's card will begin at 12:05 p.m. and conclude with the $5 million Breeders' Cup Classic (G1) at 6:45 p.m. Fans will be able to purchase single day tickets for either the Friday or Saturday program, or take advantage of bundled seating and dining packages for both days of the Breeders' Cup. "With the large, passionate base of racing fans in Kentucky and its magnificent facility, Churchill Downs is always one of the most popular venues for our Championships," Breeders' Cup President and CEO Greg Avioli said. "We're very excited to be running one of our premier races under the lights on Friday and to be staging two days of the finest racing in the world in our home state." All fans may register at www.breederscup.com/tickets to be eligible for the "Ticket Pre-Sale" and "VIP Sweepstakes." The ticket pre-sale will be offered from May 31 through June 4. The VIP Sweepstakes will also close on June 4. All details can be found at www.breederscup.com/tickets. A variety of seat choices exist, with ticket prices on Championship Friday for Reserved Grandstand and Clubhouse ranging from $20-$75 and on Championship Saturday from $40-$150. There are also bundled two-day packages available for Reserved Grandstand, Clubhouse Box seating and Premium Dining areas (Skye Terrace and Millionaires Row). General admission tickets will go on sale beginning October 5 for online purchase only. The online price for Championship Friday will be $10. General admission online price on Championship Saturday is $20. Patrons will be able to print their tickets at home and bring them to the track for admission. General admission prices at the gate on Championship Friday will be $15 and $25 on Championship Saturday. "Churchill Downs, residents of Metro Louisville and the entire region are anticipating the return of the Breeders' Cup and our first opportunity to enjoy the Championships as a two-day event," said Kevin Flanery, president of Churchill Downs. "Much Breeders' Cup history has been made beneath our track's signature Twin Spires in its record six previous visits to Churchill Downs, and the running of the first Breeders' Cup races under our new permanent lights on Friday will be another first-of-its-kind experience.
