is it possible for an american that lives in america to bet in betfair markets for example if an american got a uk bank account

YES.....it is possible but with a BIG but:
You need to pay for a VPN (a proxy IP address) - that is basically a service you pay for to re-route your US IP address to a server located in UK. This way when you log on BF thinks you are located in the UK where betting is 'legal' - you will still need a UK bank account to deposit money in bf of course. A VPN cost about £5 to £10 q month - i think! |

DEVLIN, I suspect the Yanks have set up accounts in Canadian banks and are trading through Canadian proxy IP's. Very easy to do.

Occasionally you see big money but I've seen the money be beat quite often.There is somebody at both ends of the bet too.
