TC I was on the other night went you mentioned about the opening price of the short favourites interesting angle.
Many thanks for the tip. It has worked for me. I am selective on which ones I lay. There were 2 late on last night at Portland
I laid the first one and it got beat
The 2nd one I left it alone because of the jockey.
Everyones systems or ideas are valid if it works.
Bring on More Winners
Many Thanks TC

Bsmith 06 Apr 19:38 Systems! who in there right mind would tell the whole world a winning system, i wouldnt.....once you do it becomes a losing system!
Where have you been tonight. Have you missed all the "I won't follow your advice" posts or fawwon little nuggets?
They'll continue to back them, you can be sure of that despite of what I have posted. Because "they look best", "they are a nap", "nothing to beat", etc. Bet on it.
Also, as soon as a couple win in a row, the "system" would have conclusively be proven a failure. Count on that too, people will be posting about it.
I have a feeling I know which way you'll be trading though ;)

TC, you seem to have converted EnjoyLife. Those with sense will see there's something in what you say, but now just stop mentioning it! You surely can't afford to have too many wise souls taking advantage of your angle..

TC after you have studied the cards for a track and priced the horses up with your pencil, would you turn down say 6/4 for something you have priced at 2/5 for example simply because the tote is at 1/9? i am not having a pop just curious to see when the tote overiddes the form from your point of view?

Right Tommorow 8.30 Kempton horse 2 can run well here. Back it win and place. If it comes 2nd or 3rd then back it on Friday were it runs at Wolv in the 8.15 race.
8.30 Kempton horse 2 W/P.

I am trying a few different ideas on the US racing. I am amending and reviewing these all the time.
As everyone knows that people posting on here have their own opinions. Some you win some you lose including some I post on here. I think it is more fun when we have differing view as it makes it more interesting when the race comes to off time

Evening all. Was just on to post, as usual, my one bet for the night. But i read the last few pages of posts....and I realized that this once great haven of 'Gentlemen' - the US racing forum - has started to degenerate into the same old crap from the other forums. Whats up with that, lads?

Oh well. Anyways. I usually come on with a good 'Back', as some of you know, but tonight I have a great lay. The 9 in the next (4th race) at MNR. its a tough post in that size field, and the normally high-pct Shanyfelt barn has fallen on a flat-spot. I am taking it on with confidence, esp. at the current price.

Well, if I'd known the 4 was going to take the lead at the beginning and hold on, then certainly there was enough pace for it... Rats!

Mountaineer Park R5 - Maiden race so be careful. 5 looks the best on paper but we all know how these races run. May dutch a few outsiders! Your thoughts?

The american punters are just taking too short a price. They always hammer the jolly which sldom is any value. They must go from the track walking like John Wawne with the money they lose.

I'd give this one a miss. Quite a few horses who ran sprints last time, so you could well get a decent pace in this race. That ought to set it up for the closers, S S Legend and McBean.
I quite like the fav, but as everybody else has pointed out, the price is too short. If you put a gun to my head, I'd go for McBean (the 3). A place bet would be solid value.

The 5 does at least have consistency in his favour. Even a poor race by his standards will give him a fair shot. He may well improve too, since that last race was coming off a layoff.

I have lost so many Maidens by backing the fav and am not saying this 5 will not win,I am just looking for a bit of value. On paper it looks best, but it is by no means superior above the others? I am confused.com

If you take the 5's speed figs at face value then it does actually have a lead of several points over the other horses. One of the others needs to improve a bit in order to beat him. And he really should be better then he was last time, given that was after a layoff.
I'm beginning to talk myself into backing him...

Well I didn't have a bet on that race in the end, but I'm quite satisfied with that result - the 5 was indeed superior and won, and the other significant closer, McBean, got up for second...
