Underperforming Apple, Microsoft and Intel by a whopping 50% this year.

Interesting to look at the share-dealings of the guys at the top though. Basically, every few days they exercise an option to buy shares for $0, and waste little time in selling them for $550 each.

In the last six-months, Sergei Brin and Lawrence Page have paid themselves $650 million each. Poor relation Eric Schmidt has trousered a mere $200 million.

This company pays ordinary shareholders no dividend.

I will not buy any non pound denominated shares again. You get stiffed for the currency exchange on both ends of the trade.

Sounds dodgy.

Apple shares have been brilliant.

But Google seems to be a different company since the share split in April consolidated the voting rights of the three at the top. What they did is illegal in the UK, and was fought in court for two years over there.

Forget driverless cars, Google glass, space exploration, $1 salaries : - they are a smokescreen for the fact that this company is being mined from the inside out.
Sergei Brin's 2013 stock options were $0, now they're, like $100 million every fortnight.

A typical day: Goog -0.28 Apple +1.30
Because of the voting-rights stranglehold, many institutions won't touch GOOG, that's why there is x7 more activity in Aaapl.
Depresssing Goog is: however many shares you want to buy at yesterday's price: Page & Brin have more to sell.

How much are they both worth?

So who is buying them?

Somebody stocked up with a bucketful between Oct - Nov to put the brakes on the collapse in price. Then after the shares recovered to 568 they didn't even hit the resistance level that was formed in August before they were hammered back down.
The selling at560+ was not absorbed so we are now looking for a point where they'll step in again, that's if they're still holding them and the plot is still on.

Anybody who trades the shares and knows what they're looking at will be very interested in them at this point, especially if they get back to their low October levels on low volume.  They would look a buy then.
Not that I'd buy them. I'm not interested in these types of shares.

Sub -500.
For reasons above: if you know how to short - this is the best game in town.

I haven't been following the share but I noticed UBs post had pushed up the thread so I just took a peak

I reckon the spring on high volume on the 16th a few days ago is as good a bottom indicator as you're likely to get.

If I were trading the share, I would have bought as soon as I could see that the following bar had followed through and confirmed the obvious buying on the 16th.

Now under $500 for the first time as Brin, Page and Schmidt resume heavy off-loading.
Report Dr Crippen January 14, 2015 12:59 PM GMT
Another buy signal yesterday with a spring on higher volume.

Selling on the upthrust of the 29 December would have locked in around 5.5% to those who bought on the last bottom if they knew what they're doing.
Unless they'd got out sooner when the price entered the obvious level of resistance to the left.

Although many might now have their fingers crossed if they had bought on the 8 January which proved to be disappointing. I don't think they'll have long to wait to be back in front anyway.

For the fundamental differences in their corporate structures, I'll bet you a month's rent Google are poorer relative to Apple at the end of the year, Dr Crippen.
What say you?
GOOGL 504.49
AAPL 109.07
Actually, to lose on Google is to lose twice, as they don't pay a dividend.

ub,
I take no interest in fundamentals. I know little about the companies whose shares I trade.
I'm only interested in short term movements of shares. And always in harmony with the index they are a part of.
If the index is falling I'm out anyway.

I see that Google shares ended the day at 500.87 and Apple's are 109.80.

I don't know where they'll be at the end of the year.
