BBC arrogance - the Global 30

Occasionally I look at the major indices on bbc business, and lurking amongst the FTSE, Dow Jones and Dax is a piece of turd called the BBC Global 30.

Has anyone ever in the history of the world ever found it useful to know what's happening with the BBC Global 30?
30 companies, 10 big ones, each from 3 different continents "makes the BBC Global 30 a useful tool to see where the world's most important companies and thus the global economy are heading"

"Our index is designed to capture the economic mood of the industrialised world" the government-appointed arbiters of how to measure 'mood' proclaim in their explanation of this pointless piece if clutter.

"Important". "Global economy". Capitalism needs checks and regulation. But it doesn't want or need a government run business web-site deciding it knows the best way to measure what's important.
